I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.

I can't remember if anyone mentioned it but I've nearly finished 'Norsemen' on Netflix.

One of the funniest shows I've seen for ages.

Beer and Beef has made us what we are - The Prince Regent

It can get a bit repetitive, and it does seem surprisingly easy for the Palestinians to get in and out of Israel with guns, knives, bombs, cash, hostages, etc, but its very exciting and the location shooting is amazing. Must break all records for the number of fags smoked per episode.

Does anyone else think Al-Makdasi is John Gregory with a beard?

Have wondered about that in the past but I read different views on whether it is politically biased?

Ummmmm...you could watch it yourself and make up your own mind, perhaps?

It's an Israeli-made show, and the core characters are the Israeli security team, who you get to know much better than the other side. Like most violent long-running series (Sons of Anarchy, The Shield, Jason Bourne, James Bond, etc, etc), the leads have a miraculous life-expectancy compared to their opponents, but this is probably more justified given the asymmetric nature of this particular conflict. It's admirably frank about how dirty the war is (though I don't know how realistic it is) and how compromised everyone is on both sides. I find it sensitive in setting out the motivations and emotions of its Palestinian characters, torn between a sense of raging injustice and a desire to find a quiet life, somewhere, somehow.

It's also crazily exciting, if that helps.

Yep, brilliant show.

Nice summary Mr Sheen. I also like the fact it's gritty without being too gratuitous.

I could!

Thanks for the long review, Sheen. Really appreciated. I'll put it on the list.

Sorry if it came across as unnecessarily snippy, Brian. It's fantasy, but it's wildly entertaining.

So I’ve been immersing myself in Netflix box sets to while away lockdown time. I’ve watched designated survivor which is good. Queen of the South another series worth watching . Ozark probably the best of the lot. I’ve just started watching mind-hunter

Has anyone tried Animal Kingdom? I loved the film but was a bit huffy when they transplanted the series from Australia to California so never got round to it.

Gangs of London started like a steam train and episode 2 weren’t bad.
Quite violent and a bit far fetched but not a bad watch. Will be taking in episode 3 and 4 this evening

Just binged ep 1 to 4, I have to say in terms of bloodshed and gore, this makes Game of Thrones look like the A- Team. Phenomenal series.

Just finished Gangs of London! Very good but surely the most violent series ever made for TV! Definitely worth watching if you have a strong stomach!

Binging on 'The Last Dance' about the great Chicago Bulls team.

Think someone on here recommended it? If so, thanks. Savage story.

Most welcome use of Peaches by the Stranglers throughout.

A few episodes into Giri/Haji and it's very good so far. I missed it when it was on the Beeb last year but now showing on Netflix.

I got suckered in by the first two episodes of that as well

By midpoint of the series I was looking forward to it finishing ASAP. It got farcical and all over the shop not knowing what it was or where it was going.

Watching Ozark at moment on Netflix. Quite enjoyable so far and seems a decent slow burner

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I really enjoyed Ozark. I think the 3rd series is the weakest of them but still decent.

Interesting. I thought series two was a bit dull, but it picked up again for the third. Overall a good series. Kind of Breaking Bad meets Sopranos.

If you fancy porn without the associated problems with viruses and browser history, Normal People is basically 12 episodes of two intensely annoying people fcking in a variety of posh houses in different countries with zero plot and minimal conversation.

Not your cup of tea then, mate! I thought it was really good. I thought the leads were excellent. And yeah, there's not too much of a plot other than a couple of people trying to traverse the tricky time lots of people go through at school and early adulthood. Whether that's your first proper relationships, moving away frrom home or finding yourself mixing in different social circles. I thought it captured all of that very well.

As for the posh houses in different countries - that world exists, doesn't it, especially when you're mixing with posh folk at Cambridge/Oxford/Trinity etc.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Yeah, I loved it, even better than the book I thought.

The posh houses things is I think a reference to her family providing material things - a mansion in Sligo, the holiday home in Italy and house in Dublin - whilst giving her zero love and attention.
