Did you actually read the article, or just the headline?

"Miller told the November issue of FHM: 'We're having a debate at the moment with the BBC over whether we can say gipsies, because they say gipsies is a racist term, and you think "Yes it is but that's the point that we're making,"

There seems to be a section of society that is absolutely desperate to be offended, a bit like Mary Whitehouse when she denounced the (I'm 100% serious!) 'violence' in Tom and Jerry cartoons. And I honestly believe this PC stuff has now got to a stage where it will now not look out of place in a Alan Partridge sketch.

He's been got at, hasn't he. I wish he had the strength of character to just tell them to F@*k off!

What he voiced first time around was his genuine opinion; that of Samson Lee too, incidentally.

He's not even a bloody Gypsy!!

The media has people obsessing over this nonsense while the country is quietly being dismantled and sold off brick by brick by a cabal of thieves. Nothing to see here, move along.

Yes I would agree with that but I would like to further add it is now getting to the stage where no matter what instance certain words are said?......Many an innocent person will be disgracefully deemed a racist by the PC fascist brigade on the basis that he/she is not 'up-to-date' and 'on-message' with the PC fascist brigades own latest dictionary definition of what words they consider to be offensive or racist. To some gypsy is a racist word no matter which way its said!

See he's got away with it!

A shocking decision.

Marler and the RFU are hiding behind the fact that Marler apologised, Eddie Jones said you're a naughty boy, don't do it again and the RFU did their pit of PR.

All of the above because he was caught on sound saying it.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that what goes on, on the pitch should stay on the pitch. However once you go down the road of a Suarez being banned etc then the precedent is set and sport changes for ever.

What if a Welsh (or English) player had used the N word, what then? Or an English cricketer picked up on sound for using a slightly derogatory term towards an Indian/Bangladeshi/ Pakistani player etc during the twenty20?

All hell would have been let loose.

Once you live in a PC world you cannot have different sets of rules. It's all well and good Gatland saying, let it lie that isn't the point.

A terrible decision for rugby and staggeringly inept.

I gather you think its all a load of bollo x?

I agree, but you've missed my point.

This is classed as a racist comment, you therefore cant have rules for some not others.

I haven't got a racist bone in my body, but I've got a pretty sick sense of humour and as Darran stated about being called Ironside, fair do's Gypsy Boy is pretty lame

But all that isn't the point.

Lots of use of the word "racist" here. It's not that, it misses the point and cheapens the debate because it allows the "it's Pee Cee GONE MAD!!" types to trot their tiresome, cliche ridden spiel out again.

It was a racial insult.
