1 in 3 Pints 20:51 - Oct 13 with 3595 views | Dorse | ABI has bought out SAB MIller. $244Bn company and will be selling around 1 in 3 of all pints sold. When the World Cup came to Germany, ABI had the stadium contract and you could only get Bittburger at the Allianz. Munich locals said arseholes to all that and set up stalls in the car parks selling proper German beers. Drove the sponsors mental so they demanded that the entrepreneurs be moved on. So they set up just outside the car park. Ha!

There's something about that stat that's completely mind boggling but somehow easier to grasp than other similarly mammoth numbers. Basically throw a rope round one third of every p*ssed up pub, bar, casino, wedding, wake, work do, barmitzva, quiet night in etc etc etc and those are your profits. Mental.

Even Americans have realised how bad industrial beer is, and that you don't need a £1bn factory to make something better. I can only see these international brands withering away. Leffe is owned by InBev, I'm afraid.

Just been on a weekend to Bruges and frequented the Beer Museum while there. Like most places, many of the beers are hit and miss but I enjoyed plenty of those monk trappist beers. Although it's hard to find anything that don't blow your brain out strength wise. That Chimay you speak off came in between 8 to 9%. Fun though. Bruges food is awful though, if you don't like Spaghetti, your screwed. [Post edited 14 Oct 2015 13:48]

1 in 3 Pints on 12:40 - Oct 14 by 18StoneOfHoop | But what about the morning after all that lovely bottled Fullers stuff,Clique Leader? Won't the Ginger Hedgepig one has somehow pulled do a runner as your bottom starts to let rip it's 21 fart salute? |
My local has London Pride on tap. I can testify to the lingering after effects the morning after as both my kids (little sods) declared that I stink and they run away holding their noses. My wife (a ginger) claimed that she loved me despite the 'noisome stench'. I felt better after that but I'm pretty sure she retched whilst she said it.

Must have been out of season mate. Not a moule to be had. Aside from pastries covered in chocolate, all most places served was pasta either by way of spag bol or mac cheese. Followed up this outing with a drive through to Amsterdam, marginally improved cusine however that obsession with chips and with half a litre of mayonnaise, what is that all about? People lapping that up. [Post edited 14 Oct 2015 15:58]

My mate linked that earlier I hope it doesn't effect 'The Black Heart' which is one of the best live music venues left.
