When Martinez left, we had little in the way of hiraeth for him, same with Rodgers and Sousa but LAUDRUP seems to have impregnated many it seems form this site s preposterous pining for him. HE was utterly overated proven by the fact no club in PL has seen fit to sound him out.

Laudrup was found out, for what he is, a great player and a pretty average manager who won a trophy for us then lost interest playing the humble poor Uriah Heap ..Im sure our players were pretty much underwhelmed by his great team manure, chelsea, liverpool, tottenham, arsemnal etc etc fookn nauseating crap..
Why this ridiculous overload of bollux on a fella who really truly didn't givea shite.

Its been a long time and contrary to what the "important" and "great" poster say, Monk hasn't fooked up yet ; he might in the future but until then the constant stream of shyte having a go at anything he does is deeply shaming us all.

There see and "It seems almost sinister in the way that ........."What have you done Board" and "Coward/Arrogant Monk" appeared on here .

I didn't ever think internet chat rooms could be an influence but they clearly are.

But our squad now is arguably the strongest it's been since we got to the PL

There's no argument. Definitely the best we've had, especially after this window.
Strong throughout the team. No weak links. No Schecter, Vasquez, Kemi, or similar.

Ah still hurting - sorry you cannot goad me when we have just taken 3 hard won points off Southampton.

I will work it out for you if you like. But I think you will find that the point I was making was that despite all the circumstances you state, comparing like for like games Laudrup was on almost identical points with his previous record breaking year when he was sacked. Something we did not come close to after.

Why did I post that - to set the record straight because of the continued abuse and triumphalism on here by those who mystifyingly wanted to tear apart the achievements of one of our most successful managers ever by saying he was crap and would have relegated us. Which the stats (whichever way you looked at them) did not support let alone taking into account the team just coming back into full fitness after the shocking injuries. Which is probably why he was not sacked for results but for eroding the Swansea way. Which is a discussion for another thread.

What has that got to do with how well we are doing points wise now? Although certainly since September their points have been very close comparing this season and last. It is however great to see us getting our shape back after the last couple of games and a couple of decent signings too hopefully will help us get our passing game back.

But did you not previously say that massive key injuries did not make a difference to results. Yet there are many posts on here before yesterday's game that disagree with you and we are still not near the number of length of the key injuries last year. Perhaps they only matter depending on who the manager is?

Oh and check out the match thread I was one of the first to post and one of the few thinking we could get a win. I actually up arrowed the couple who had put a bet on us to win as I was delighted to see that faith amongst much despondency. Although I am sure that someone will say it was so I could say we should have won after. Now that would be ridiculous given the number of years since we had won there.

When we move on to our next manager and the animals are picking over Monk's bones I will be happy to do the same for him if his achievements and the stats before he leaves bear it out.

How about taking in to consideration GM's lack of a 23 goal scoring attacking mid fielder, or don't you think 23 goals in one season by one player helps at all?

This also applies to Sixpenses, ML was the only manager to have that luxury.
But of course it was ALL down to ML's managerial genius.

But wasn't Bony (who would not have been here without Europe) voted our best ever striker and our top PL scorer? And didn't Monk have the luxury of inheriting him just as he was (according to Bony's own words) coming into top form, after (again in Bony's own words) having PL fitness issues (for which he was receiving special training).

He was given all the European time he could have wished for; and even before Michu's injury and despite his PL fitness issues, was still also given twice the PL playing time that Gomis was given during the same number of games. Despite that his goals were very limited under Laudrup and only made the difference of 1 additional PL point in the 24 PL games under Laudrup (in which he played in every one for which he was available)

But most importantly was Michu not only here because of Laudup? Remember when he was chosen for Spain the first thing he wanted to do was thank Laudrup for making it possible for him. Don't forget Pablo, Chico, JDG, Amat, Canas and Poz. All important players for us brought in by Laudrup for relative peanuts. As well as Ki and Bony

A very important part of being a manager is bringing the right players in. Was it Bren's managerial genius when we were promoted primarily due to the performances of the important players he brought in?

You decide, if the manager using his links, knowledge, skill and judgement to bring in players that are key to tremendous achievements made by seemlessly fitting them into the team then It's a yes from me.

Of course with full deference to all the managers that came before them as we kicked on under each manager. So let's hope we can continue to do that this season with what most agree is our best and certainly is our most expensive team ever.

You have used this argument about Michu before and I am afraid it made no more sense then.

So anyone who rationally responds to points raised is goaded?

I think you will find that is the way forums work.

I think the delusion belongs to one who suggests serious ongoing key injuries would have no impact on performance.

its a bit daft to say Ml was not a pull for players he obviously was, wasn't that the reason that we employed him as manager, or did we make the wrong move when bringing him in.
His Spanish link is massive,
Isn't he going in for barcas striker coach, he can't be that bad if they've made that decision.

Not you maybe, but I am sure that every other Fan would just love the luxury of a player capable of scoring 23 goals a season.

Yeah but Laudrup would have had us in the Champions League if it wasn't for the players plotting behind his back............

Actually' thats probably right .... Not the champions league but the other bit.
Definitely didn't help the team.

On a serious note that would be a position that he'd be ideal for. His movement and game intelligence would be great for players like Suarez, Neymar etc. And he wouldn't have to deal with club politics.

As a player and a coach he has all the tools (as shown by his achievements), his application is clearly what stopped him from being (a) argubaly the best player ever and (b) joining the top table of coaching
