Long after the ten minute applause for the dear departed Mr. Clough ended a second round of applause and a sympathetic chant of unity broke out around the ground from both sets of supporters. What was this unusual occurrence about? Well it was about breaking the long held traditions of a football club and changing their colours from red to blue against the will of their supporters. As the Cardiff guys held their blue and white scarves and shirts high the Derby boys chanted in unison. It was good to see. Can you imagine the furore if some eastern potentate got hold of our club and wanted to change our ram to a pelican or a camel and switch our shirts to Forest red or Leicester royal blue? The thought is enough to keep a dedicated supporter awake half the night.
