HAs the supporters trust said anything on the matter? This is a perfect opportunity for them to show they are in touch with supporters wishes.

Maybe I'm getting too worked up here Matt. But somebody from the club must have sat there during commissioning/testing and okayed it.
Whoever did that can't give a feck about the fans 'enhanced match day interactive experience'
What a mess

Tested?

Like the ticketing system? Like the sizes of the shirts?

Instead of trying to be a clever c*nt, how about just answering the civil question i asked? I've looked on the trust website and there's f*ck all on there.

Why does it cost £3 to buy online? Why is there any charge at all.

And if the club "have introduced ticketing software that is employed worldwide for sporting and entertainment venues" then why are perfectly valid tickets being rejected as having wrong barcodes or invalid barcodes Surely these problems would have been met and sorted before now if the system is employed worldwide?

I can't answer about the ticketing, as my STs all worked last week and this. I was at the ground at about 2.15 and the only queue I saw was for the Riverside Bar (why???????????????) .
The presentation on the big screen was much better and the LED advertising had been dimmed down and was less of a distraction.
However I still ended up with a migraine, which is only just going.
At least it seems the club are listening to some degree

Fans are so fickle. How quickly we forget where we have come from as a club and why.
It is a combined effort from fans, players,, staff and those like Leigh who put their cash on the line to save the luck and worked relentlessly.
I'm not being an apologist for Leigh or anyone else, the LED advertising is a big mistake. A solution which suits all needs to be found.
However to start mud-slinging at the directors is juvenile.
Problems like this should be dealt with through the Trust, Supporters Forums and contacting the club directly.

Indeed - I hope to have a look at the view from the seats before committing

Sorted out this morning. Club were very accommodating and seats are definitely ones which will give no problem with seeing big screen or having view spoilt by LED advertising.
Also three seats together. Appreciate this does not help anyone else, but at least the club have helped me on this occasion.

I may be wrong but IMO as we apparently pride ourselves on "club run by the fans for the fans" then they/we should practice what they/we preach and vote on it1

Put it out to trust members ,find out the total profit involved in having these stupid things advertising curry houses etc, and see if it really is worth while .

I bet we are talking about a weeks wages for Gomis V a years headaches/stree for fans, who wont feel so obliged to buy stuff from the club shop and will adapt more of a fook you attitude towards spending hard earned cash.

My point is that while every penny counts i doubt we are talking about multi millions !

For all the hassle its caused its probably just not worth it, i t seems that good solid long term supporters have been alienated and that isn tright at all.

There is a reason why not many other teams have these types of advertising hoardings, the club and trust can turn a PR fook up into a massive win if they play this right and fix the problem.

Just my thoughts.

It costs £1,000 for the season to advertise on the crowd-facing boards. There are no more than 10 advertisers.

Somebody decided it was worth obscuring the view of the pitch for hundreds of fans and annoying the hell out of many thousands of fans for approx £10k.

Premier League tv and performance payments this season are expected to be in the region of £70m.

I say again, these boards are a total p** s take.

"Other issues raised on behalf of our members have involved the crowd facing adverts that have appeared around the ground" - the sentence above is taken from the Trust statement recently published. Perhaps Phil could kindly publish on this site the up to date situation re these ad's which again last Saturday were obtrusive, the simple fact is they should not be sighted where they are.

So it is £10k per season? If that is true then my idea is a fix! I am sure the 10 advertisers would be quite happy having multiple boards displayed around the S, E and N stands.

Not sure if your sums are correct, but i do agree with you, peanuts in the grand scheme of things.
"There's no such thing as bad publicity" so the saying goes.... but in this case I feel the local firms advertising on these boards have shot themselves in the foot, and are actually paying for the right to p"ss off potential customers.

The clubs commercial department have made a massive c*ck up here,I suppose these things do happen at times, but it's only a fool that fails to see when he's made a mistake, and a much bigger one that fails to rectify that mistake at the earliest opportunity.

The club have had the message loud and clear, the advertising boards are hideous and are hated by all that are affected by them....... get rid of them...and get rid now!

Companies are apparently paying for set 'seconds' of advertising. He figures I've heard would mean the club would be earning well over a million £ per season if these allotments sold out. The same sorts of figures that the season ticket money brings in from the fans they're facing. Disturbing that they also stated that these boards are helping to maintain ST prices, so no chance of them dropping

I would say those figures relate to the camera facing signs rather than the crowd facing ones.

Each side of the sign shows different adverts.

Speak to the commercial department, tell them you want to advertise on the crowd facing boards and they will quote you £1,000 for the season.

And it's in black and white in the advertising brochure that they send out.

Those figures are for the adverts facing the field and television cameras.
The cost for local firms to advertise on the led boards facing the fans is £1,200 per season... you do the maths.

Well if its as low as that then somebody at the club needs shooting!

Shafting long term supporters view of the team they love for a couple of grand just seems plain wrong.

There has surely been a massive balls up in the thought process, i don't believe for one minute the club would purposely upset its fans with this kind of thing but i also think they may be a bit "head in the sand" in terms of putting it right, by that i mean biting the bullet and switching them off.

All the money coming into the club and they take the pee out of 1,000 fans for 10k!!

Even more worrying is our commercial dept. thinking in the low thousands when it should be thinking in the hundreds of thousands minimum!

A Global product chasing down the local curry house or whatever for advertising revenue doesn't fill me with confidence!

Seems to be small time thinking on this from day 1 . With just a little extra work they could perhaps have found a club partner who would be happy to cough up 20 times more for any number of advertising options at the Liberty.

Knowing us we probably had 20 people chasing a grand each instead of 20 people working together to bring in 500k .

Anyway, the depth of feeling should mean positive ation is taken,id be suprised if it isn't .
