Garry Monk says he is there for any of his team mates who have been ruled out for the season
The Swansea City captain knows exactly what Marcos Painter, Ferrie Bodde and Stephen O'Hallorhan are going through at the moment - he suffered the same problem back in 2006/2007.
It was a kneww injury that sidelined Monk for the season but he says that he can give them advice and guidance on getting through the tough period.
The Swans trio have all been sidelined with the same injury - cruciate ligament - within the last seven weeks and all through injuries sustained at the Liberty Stadium
Speaking to News of the World, Monk said "I've been though exactly what Paints, Ferrie and Stephen are going through now. I'm here for those lads if they need to chat about it.
"For a professional athlete having a long term injury is the worst thing that can happen. You train every day and play games - then all of a sudden it stops for six to twelve months.
"You wonder if your career will be the same again, that's only natural. I want to make sure the injured lads are all right and if they need something they only have to ask me.
They can talk to me about their rehab because I've been through it myself. I can reassure them if they think they're having a setback. I can also give them advice.
"To lose three players with cruciate ligament injuries in one season is bizarre. Everyone at the club is stunned by it."
