Flynn drills his team well, but it's an ugly way to play. Cheap, nasty and cynical, and they nearly got away with it too, not helped by one of the most inept/ weak displays from the officials. I lost count of the number of times we all witnessed U's players literally have their shirt ripped from their backs, but in almost every case the ref was happy to wave play on and say that's okay. He certainly earned his Cheltenham Gold Cup tickets - terrible performance. Anyway, f'ck Flynn and f'ck 'nam. FAFO! |

I'm so sorry to read this chap, wishing you all the best for your treatment and fingers-crossed speedy recovery. Likewise, link doesn't work for me - if you check and maybe repost, I'll gladly chip in some cash for the cause! Stay strong! |

Would have preferred a Walsall win, but it’s just a thing. |

Cheers - ironically, it was so late I managed to catch it ahead of my planned train, so all good. Here in the away Fanzone (aka car park with a mobile bar and single portaloo) right now - looking like a good turnout for the Faithful. |

But yes Gerry, almost as slow as this train I’m on. |

Spot on - zero goals from 7 appearances (1 start, the rest from the bench for a total of 182 minutes playing time). |

That’s not good, fingers crossed he recovers quickly. Got my ticket for tomorrow, time for some Vertu Trophy payback, though to be fair we beat ourselves that night in an uncharacteristic Macey shocker. Incidentally, former U’s Harry Pell is out for most of the season with a ruptured ACL. |

That pull back by Sheckleford was as clear a yellow card as there could be, cannot understand why he didn't get his second yellow for it. I don't want to jinx anything, but there is an entirely feasible set of results on Saturday that could see the U's 3 points outside the playoffs, with a better goal difference and a game in hand. Then again, we could also be back to nine points adrift. Last ten games form table we're second behind Bradford City, who I'm certain are going to complete the reeling in of 'apparent' runaway champions Walsall soon, and probably go up as champions themselves. |

I didn’t realise until checking, the current clean sheet ranking is Goodman (17), Macey (15) and Sam Walker (13). We must have a good eye for goalkeepers. |

In Robbie's interview he did stress he still owns the M&T facility, which the new owners have a 2 year option to buy, so he has that security blanket if he needs it. I think he also owns Florence Park, which can be sold for housing for a tidy sum if needs be, so I think he's okay tbh. Assuming he will eventually sell up, because all things always come to an end, I have no doubt he'll sell for the right price and only if it's a good deal for Colchester United. However, from the little I know of Robbie from personal experience, I'm certain he's going to want to remain in charge to see where the Cowley experience takes us. |

Always the U's Gerry, though I have spent the evening sharing text messages with Spireite Craig. Great result, and definitely deserved, but it was a scrappy difficult game for much of it. Tbh, I was glad to see the back of Madden, always seems to be a thorn in our side usually. On to Cheltenham on Saturday, and revenge for that cup exit. |

Yep, ten league games at Stadium MK, plus two more at the National Hockey Stadium. Parky did win an EFL Trophy game at the National Hockey Stadium as well. I don't like going to MKD, never liked the idea of funding a franchise, so I've only been once before, for our other league victory under John McGreal in 2018. Maybe I should go more often? To say the 30,500 seater stadium was an ambitious build is a massive understatement. It's actually designed to accommodate a third tier, to give a capacity of 45,000, if needed. They've never even got close to filling it (not for a league football match that is), the best being just over 2/3rds full against Bolton in 2017. Even during their one season in the Championship back in 2015/16, they only averaged just over 13,000 per match. |

Big-hearted Frank Nouble scored the second as Yeovil fought back against the ‘weed to go 2-1 in front. Sadly, the game finished 2-2 with a Southend equaliser deep in added time. |

That’s odd, because I heard one steward tell a father and son that seats were basically unallocated and to sit wherever they wanted to. You’re right, given the stadium was nearly 3/4 empty, why pen the U’s supporters into a section with barely enough seats for all of them. Btw, I found my seat row, but couldn’t for the life of me see any seat numbers anywhere? |
