The Boro Match thread.
at 22:31 10 Mar 2025

They've got serious selection issues in defence and sold Latte Lath in January. But upfront they still have Conway and Azaz.

Who knows what side we'll play. If Frey isn't fit, will we play the 7 dwarves again?

Any prediction will wait until I see the teamsheet.

Time wasting

Wildsmith finally got booked after 92 minutes, about 30 minutes too late, IMHO.
Sure, they'll find other ways of slowing the clock but, generally, the keeper is the biggest culprit and should get the appropriate sanction.

Mind, a ref showing 2 yellow for time wasting would find his next appointment on Wormwood Scrubs, reffing 2 pub teams.

Is he any better than/as good as Kelman.
From the little I've seen of the latter this season I'd prefer to see him in a QPR shirt, while Lloyd goes out on loan.

Disappointed

There's a fair bit of guesswork in this thread.
1. Marti rested Varane and Frey, rather than them being injured
2. There's a major rebuild coming this Summer. Assumption that all OOC players are not going to be here.

Of course it was disappointing to lose. Hardly unprecedented. The issue for me was how little we created, especially against 10 men for 45.

What is needed is a ref strong enough to yellow card someone around 60-65 minutes when the p1ss taking starts. AND, if it carries on, give the player a 2nd yellow.

Well he shouldn't have put his face in the way of a flying elbow.

They slow it down at every opportunity. We need to a little bit sharper and we can get something. I'm not hopeful, though.

Possible elbow on SaIto by Furlong. No clear view of it on TV.

Needless to say, nothing is sticking up front.

Then Paal gets burned by Fellows and we end up conceding a penalty. Armstrong scores 1-0 Baggies

We might have to go under them rather than all over.

Do all their fans think they have overachieved? It seems like it. If they dont reach the play offs this season, are they going to be better placed next time? Unlikely.

They certainly dont come across as embracing their chances of reaching the PL

They split up well over 50 years ago.

Anybody would think there hasnt been any decent music since 1970. There's also just as much dross as there was in the 60s and 70s

Perhaps the various New Music threads of the last 5 years need to be revisited.

Ferry and car. But it has to come with a visit to the family. Recently, it's been 1 game per season. +QPR+ to follow home and away.

They were 3'0 down. But Dillon got goals in 84 and 90+4 to make it respectable.
Considering how many players are out on loan, it's not too critical.

Any deal has to include a Ceasefire and long term security for a sovereign country that has been invaded.
If there are several thousand US workers in Ukraine, you have far more faith than me that Putin wont still attack. Whatever the consequences.
US have been quite forthright that any military support for Ukraine is lukewarm, at best.

Why would anybody trust Putin to keep his word. First incursion into Ukraine was 2014, when they seized Crimea. Then, pause a few years before invading the Donbass.

If a ceasefire is agreed, to Trump's benefit, without security guarantees, Putin will just regroup and come again for the rest of Ukraine.
