I see and have seen top class players miss 'sitters' over many years. Mostly it doesn't get much of a mention because it's one of usually several, or many chances. Even Don Givens missed quite a few in his time but scored lots due to persistence, skill and quality support.
It was obviously disappointing to see Saito's apparent miss, but I was mostly pleased that one of our players was making strong, brave, intelligent runs to try and get on the end of the very few crosses in to the box.
When the game was over, I went fuming into the kitchen raging about the boot/ glove antics of the goalkeeper. Mrs Hants told me I said the same thing every week.
OK, just sat down to watch the match having seen Ted try and sort out the drainage in the lower meadow. Thought any avid birders here would appreciate the current visitors to my feeders. They include 4 Lesser Redpolls, 3 Blackcaps, 2 Siskins, 1 Goldcrest, Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, 2 Greenfinches, 3 Chaffinches, a Bullfinch, Sparrowhawk plus many Goldfinches, Tits and all other usual suspects. A bumper year here in deepest Hampshire. Now for the footie!
I've driven in France many times and never been stopped, but in any case always carried the required items and generally behaved myself on the road. Remember to get a Crit Air sticker for your car, in case you go to any of the towns that have their Ulez equivalent. Oh probably stating the b obvious, but euro cash cards e.g. from Post Office, are really useful, especially for the peage ( toll booths)
What an OP and what a thread! Pity I'm not able to contribute my own experience as there was no such music, or aisle come to that on our Register Office nuptials. Oh, and that was 50 years ago - and that after a 5 year relationship. Maybe the Lovin' Spoonful ' you didn't have to be so nice'?
I had enough loyalty points but they only offered standing room at £22. I had to decline because at 76 years old, with a slightly achy back, I find it preferable to sit down at a match.2
I was in the SAR paddock with my teenage nipper, roughly in line with the penalty spot - there was, as has been said, a moment's breathtaking silence as we realised what we had seen, from what seemed initially an unlikely outcome. When the resultant delirium settled, I said to Hants junior that we had just witnessed something very special.
I do my own repairs whenever I can, and although I'm no expert, I do have time, being retired. Oven element, washing machine pumps & switches, taps & shower cartridges, Sebo vacuum cleaner and Karcher pressure washer all fixed in the last year or two. E-spares and associated YouTube instructions are very useful! Also just had a kitchen makeover done by a really good company, making use of existing features, carcases etc where possible to create what looks and feels like a new kitchen.
Agreed, and the same aforesaid Paterson managed to stop play late on with an alleged injury, (cramp?) before making a miraculous recovery to score after a strong run. I too wondered to my friend in SAR how pint-sized Chair managed to elbow that big ugly grey-haired cheat?
