Justin Bijlow Fails Southampton Medical Tuesday, 27th Aug 2024 16:57 Saints hopes of signing Justin Bijlow from Feyenoord have been ended after his medical revealed issues related to an old injury, according to the player himself on his instagram page.
insidefutbol.com have revealed that the transfer of Justin Bijlow to Southampton has collapsed after he failed his medical.
They have quoted the player from his instagram page as saying:
“I was on my way to the Premier League.
“After a very special day last Sunday, for which I am very grateful, I prepared myself to leave Feyenoord. I did not find that easy and it was not my first choice, but it had to be in the interest of my career.
“The medical examination showed that Southampton has a different view than Feyenoord on the treatment of an old injury. I am fully fit and this does not hinder me, but I respect the view of the Southampton medical staff.
“This brings me back to Rotterdam, to my club Feyenoord. My bond with the city and the club is rock solid. I will continue to fight for a place in the goal of Feyenoord and the Dutch national team. Feyenoord fans, thank you for the support you always give me.”
This is a big blow to Southampton's hopes of staying up, unless a truly class keeper is signed, then it is hard to see how we can survive.
Saints could now turn their attention to Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale after Wolves ended their interest in signing the keeper.

Well done Sports Republic’s so called management team. Another master class in how not to negotiate the transfer market. On the same day as Bournemouth are in the process of securing a loan deal for a 29 year old Chelsea keeper who was with Real Madrid last season. Genuine question. Is there anybody at St Mary’s who has the slightest clue as to how to run and manage a successful Premiership Football Club ? Because at the present every indication appears to be to the contrary.

Sounds like we dodged a bullet so kudos to the medical team. Now, if we stop messing around and can get Ramsdale and Alberto in before the weekend I'll be a much happier man.

Tremendous work Saints! Nearly bought another crocked player like the eternal ‘two weeks away’ Rod Stewart. SaintMark1976, I have the same question. There doesn’t seem to be any plan or any real clue of what or who they need to build a team which can survive at the top. The one obvious thing all fans have been saying for months is a keeper who can play with his feet. A few days of the window left and we’re still bereft of the goods. As for now showing interest in a Brazilian whose club doesn’t want to sell seems farcical. Again said to be a loan with option. Have we really spent all our money? Why is Charly suddenly going now when he might have helped us get something on Saturday? Why is Onuachu still here? Now we have Sugawara and KWP is now staying does this mean he plays left back all season when we already have about 9 left backs and keep buying them? Why did we not get rid of ABK long ago? I’m praying we don’t buy any more Man City youngsters, feels like we’ve paid for Haarland for them through buying their surplus youth. Lavia aside, a waste of money atm, Charles off, Edozie lacking, Lord Larios Lucan, Bazunu just too green, THB overpriced for a club like ours. Feels like we’re going to be the league’s laughingstock again.

Never sounded very good with the injuries. Now go and get Ramsdale. He can also help Gavin mature when he is fit again.

Is Johnston still trying to leave Palace? He'll do I don't see what else the club could have done The Dutch boy looked good,Arse are determined to make Ramsdale a difficult move and we don't want to gamble on a championship keeper. We need a centre forward and the club are trying to bring in one who at least looks like a good fit Rumours about a WBA Winget He nearly beat us on his own in the 2 play off games So far we have got 2 FB's 2 CB's 3 mf and one striker Almost a whole team

"This is a big blow to Southampton's hopes of staying up, unless a truly class keeper is signed, then it is hard to see how we can survive." But we need three players if we're going to stay up: goalie, creative centre mid and a proper goal scoring centre forward. Come to think of it, didn't I say this at the start of the transfer window? Nothing's changed.

Brian Clough (a great Manager) many years ago said you need three key players who form the spine of your team. A Goalkeeper, a Centre Half, (today called a centre back) and a Centre Forward At the moment we have none of these so frankly we are going to struggle!

That is so true, Bartley. All successful teams have a strong spine. Meanwhile we seem to be building a team made up entirely of wing-backs and wingers. Clough also said his most important signing was when he broke Forest's record transfer fee to sign Peter Shilton. We also had our must successful years with Shilton in goal.
