Winger Hackney heads to Spotland Friday, 24th Jun 2011 18:27 by Col
Steve Eyre has used his footballing knowledge to add Simon Hackney to his ranks today.
Manchester born Hackney left Colchester on a free transfer in the Summer after spending two and a half years with the Essex side. He initially joined them for a fee in the region of £125,000 from Carlisle where he had previously spent four seasons.
The wideman is noted for his considerable pace, with a few tricks up his sleeve to boot, and has been described as a proper old fashioned winger.
