With 73 % possession we should have far more than 12 shots. We had relatively few chances compared to Portsmouth who had 27% of the ball. They squandered far more chances than we did yet they won 4-0.
Our problem is we don’t create half the chances we should because we play the ball in safe areas which don’t hurt the opposition and when we do get the ball forward we play it so damn slowly the defence is set and any chances disappear. We need Grimes and Fulton out of our midfield- make Franco or Darling captain and get some genuine ball players who can get the ball moving forward quickly. I wouldn’t mind Kry in there as he carries the ball so well.
I dread to think the opportunities the club has missed by persevering with Grimes who is a one footed short pass master instead of giving the likes of Fownes and Franco artistic licence to play their game instead of having to play second fiddle to someone with a broken violin.
Please try to understand 247 that the strikers are NOT the problem and never have been .
Still you bang on about strikers. Strikers need chances to be created. We can’t create because half the time or more thr ball is being played between the centre backs. All down to the manager NOT Vipotnik or Bianchini. Wake up
It was despite the sending off of James Fender leaving the Ospreys half the game with 14 players they still should have won it. Really shit analysis from the BBC all bar James Hook and Holley - didn’t realise Alex Cuthbert was such a bell end
“Williams is still fairly young and inexperienced as a manager himself, and is learning his trade.”
I hope the new owners stop this experimentation and get someone in with a decent track record, someone who can change tack when needed and not still play the same way even when oppo managers have changed theirs to counteract us. Martin and Williams were two peas in a pod, identical tactics and predictable results.
The longer we experiment the more time we waste and while we aren’t flirting with relegation yet if we carry on experimenting we will one day find a manager who will take us down. That trapdoor might not be as easy to negotiate from league one so we desperately need a big change of attitude at the club and some of the players have to go too. Our midfield yesterday for a start.
Never. Not even at 5k. We got lucky selling him for what we did - we need to learn the lessons regarding over sentimentality of past players who have come back, dime nothing and really did cost us
