| News Comment | Ever more new and creative ways to lose football matches – Report at 12:18:08
Thanks for this, Clive. I was not in a good mood leaving the stadium after this game and I'm sure upset a few people with my emotional post-match comment! It's just so upsetting. We play poor, we lose. We play well, we lose. Opposition plays well, we lose. Opposition plays poorly, we lose. My patience has gone now, and I cannot see a way out of it for us. |

Thanks Clive. I can only presume you haven't seen replays of that Pen, because it was as sure a dive as you'll see. Appalling decision. Again though, we gave the ref a decision to make. And wow, we really did look toothless up top. |

"Now you can clad a building in solidified lighter fuel and when people burn to death in their homes accuse them of lacking sufficient common sense to escape, or look at a picture of a four-year-old boy sleeping on a pile of coats in a crowded hospital and accuse his parents of faking the image, or hand public money and access over to some underqualified blonde you’re knocking off in the afternoon when you’re meant to be working, and not only keep your job but also have us gleefully re-elect you. They were more innocent times." Some well-balanced political commentary there, Clive. Separately, looking forward to tonight! |
| News Comment | QPR click back into gear at Rovers' expense - Report at 12:49:21
Cheers Clive, fabulous afternoon it was. I'd have knocked the ref's score down simply for not giving what to me looked the most blatant penalty on Eze. Think that decision has got a free ride because of the result (or maybe it just wasn't a penalty?). |

I've said before and will forever repeat, that we are exceptionally lucky to have owners prepared to lose tens of millions so the rest of us can watch our beloved football team. Fernandes and Tune have lost close to £300m (and increasing) on this club; they will never get that back. Absolutely devastating for Bury and Bolton fans. |

Also, on reflection, I think we’ve seen enough mistakes from Lumley now to know he’s not going to be good enough for a team that wants to push on (I assume that’s what we’ll want to do eventually?). We’ve seen this with Green, we know there’s no hope of achieving much when you can always rely on your keeper for a big mistake. |
| News Comment | QPR master own downfall in City reality check — Report at 17:20:17
Cheers for the report, Clive. Just going to copy and paste what I wrote on the match thread, as I think it very true even after the disappointment of yesterday has subsided: Rangel was more at fault for that then Lumley in my opinion, though not discounting how awful it was from him too. An experienced player like Rangel making a throw on like that? Terrible. What do I know, but I was so surprised when I saw Rangel on the team sheet, thought he looked the weak point in the first half, sure enough got himself booked early on, and then produced that throw on. Manager must have had a damn good excuse for not playing Kane. So frustrating, but can’t say we deserved much, we created nothing up front, and I see that being the worry for us this season. |
| News Comment | Cameron makes QPR's point against Frank Lampard's Derby County - Report at 13:58:34
Thanks Clive. Not sure I agree with your thought process on moving Lynch to left back, I'm not comfortable with him as a CB let alone at fullback where he'll be even more prone to being turned from tricky wingers! Much better to move Rangel there and use Kakay at RB, no? |
| News Comment | Lightning QPR start floors Sheff Wed - Report at 12:13:49
Thanks for the report. Totally disagree on Cousins. He looked off the pace, spent more time fouling the opposition than anything else, his ball distribution was very poor and he added little going forward. He also barely got involved in the second half and his lack of presence in the middle really showed. I thought we badly missed Luongo. Agree on other players and in particular Freeman, who's form has dropped, but he set the bar so high for himself I think we have to cut him some slack. Overall a really enjoyable game, and that's all I really ask for. |

“But at the same time, if you think QPR are a switch to 4-4-2 (which would presumably necessitate moving Luke Freeman into the wide role he was ineffective in at Bristol City)†Why would it? Stick Freeman behind the striker in the number 10 role. Simple. That maintains the middle three in what we all agree to be their beat positions, allows for a flat back four with proper full backs, allows for two proper wingers playing higher up the pitch, and frees the team to play to their strengths. Football really is that simple. Of course we’re all armchair managers though aren’t we... |
| News Comment | QPR's second half rally comes up just short - Report at 12:46:39
"The only thing Perch did right in that horrible 40 minutes was not get booked and more importantly get himself injured." I think Perch's biggest mistake was not getting himself injured. The man is a complete and utter liability, as he's always been. When he's not attempting to assassinate opposition players with ludicrous tackles, he's busy making a meal out of defending properly. As for the game, sounds like it was very encouraging at times, let's hope Ollie can find something similar this weekend. |
| News Comment | Brilliant Smithies finally beaten by nonsense late penalty - Report at 23:48:13
How’s on earth can you possibly have mustered a 5/10 for Washington?! He literally contributed nothing. Actually I think “nothing†is still being generous. He didn’t even kick the ball for the first ten minutes he was on. Spot on about everything else though, and to have missed out on two more points under such circumstances is frankly infuriating. Thanks for the wrightup as always, and Merry christmas. |
