I take him back in a heartbeat. Over the past 2 years, since his departure, the club and the fanbase have been through a torrid time on and off the pitch. Whilst it's unlikely we'll have success on the pitch in terms of a promotion push, and no real derby win to celebrate, I think both the fans and more importantly Hendo deserve the golden moment of the goalscorer record being broken. It will be a moment of euphoria, and whether it happens with a last-gasp winner or when we're 4-0 down to bottom of the league, it will be a memory that goes down in the history of the club. Given we've still got a rather large black cloud over our heads with the unresolved MH issue, I think we as fans could do with a bit of a feel-good factor pumped back into Spotland and show everybody once again what sort of club we are. |

1 ticket per person, so that means if you want to go with somebody the seats aren’t going to be together? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. |

Imagine my shock, Radio Manchester looking at the “negatives” of every part of the outstanding news of no takeover. One would think they’ve got no idea what’s going on… |

Another 90 minutes coming away disappointed. Harrogate weren’t great, Scunthorpe weren’t great & Forest Green weren’t great - what does that make us? No real bite in midfield, but that’s a given seen as Dooley is a winger and Morley is…Morley? Ran well out of patience with the lad in League One, thought he might perform a league down, but just as empty on patience with him already. Just because he’s come from the academy doesn’t mean he has to play every game. A strong centre-mid and an old fashioned goalscorer are much needed before August 31st. Odoh looked bright again, O’Connell solid as always, Newby unsurprisingly our goalscorer. Optimism is slowly dwindling, but not gone yet. #UTDNFS |

I did think it was Dan Bentley at first, however just a quick peep at his Instagram he won Bristol City’s Player of the Season in 20/21, so would highly doubt it - hope I’m proven wrong! A solid performance, the CB trialist impressed me, the others were good enough as well although not standout. Looking forward to seeing who we bring in and how Stockdale builds on it, as after tonight I’m quietly impressed! (Edit - Dan Bentley played for Bristol in a friendly at 2pm today against Pompey, so even more unlikely, but whoever the keeper was the spitting image) [Post edited 20 Jul 2021 21:49]

I know it’s all ifs, buts and maybes but Jesus Christ a few more performances like that over the past 7 months and none of us are worrying about relegation. It seems drilled into us at the minute we have to take it to the final few games. I was disappointed by the Swindon game, we just got away with that one, but today we were immense for 90 minutes. Maybe, JUST maybe, we might make it again. |

I think we miss Newby a bit. Baah can take a man on, but up top it doesn’t work. I’d like to see a 5-4-1 with Baah and Newby as wingers on Monday, to give us some out balls. We look better with 5 at the back, however have nothing but a long ball when we win it back. With a pair of wingers but still having the solidity of 5 (either CB’s & FB’s or CB’s and holding middle) at the back I think it might just work. |

Not sure if it’s a thing, even with the win, but surely we can put a complain of some kind into the EFL about the penalty decision? It could well have impacted our survival fight today. Darren Drysdale can get suspended for giving a bit back to mouthy player, so that decision can go unnoticed. |

Not sure if it’s to do with the manager, players, fans or anybody else - but THAT is what we’re capable of. For the first time this season I saw 100% from everybody, and that’s what it will take to stay up. HOWEVER, why haven’t we shown that in the past 8 months? Deserved win against title contenders, we back them till the very last day. |

Not sure if anybody else has noticed, or is concerned about it like I am, but there seems to be a certain level of joviality, and a relaxed nature that a board of directors and manager of a team bottom of the league shouldn’t have. |

I appear to have got this one wrong with the 3 downvotes, but I stand by what I’ve said. We’re appear, boardroom downwards, to be a team in transition. I believe we’ve no hope should a new manager come or not, so why not give BBM the time to build and new team and go for it. We DID have an attacking, expansive play under him in the early days which my of been cut off by the relegation battle (I’m not shifting any blame of relegation from him) so why not give him a chance in a lower league? If it doesn’t work out, we get an experienced head in to hopefully get us back into League One. |

I’d probably be inclined to give him a crack at promotion after relegation, much like a scaled down version of Wilder at Sheff United. He does have some pedigree as a manager, and I feel with his style of play in League Two we could suffocate teams with fitter, younger squad. It’s either pull the trigger now or stick with him in League Two. To be honest, I’d take relegation now if you could promise me a title chasing League Two season. [Post edited 6 Mar 2021 19:25]

I’ve just seen Brian’s interview. I’ve backed him to the hilt, but Jesus Christ the man is absolutely deluded if he thinks anybody excited about this run in. Pathetic interview, no fire, just complacency. |

Would probably just pass it off as another game if we were safe, but we’re not. An easy day out for Sunderland but not a terrible performance from Dale by any stretch of the imagination. We’ve got 13 games left, so this is the final point I’d say now for the board to pull the trigger, however I don’t see anybody getting anything extra out of these players except for a 3 game new manager “bounce”. I’d argue to say it’s either get somebody in now, or go down and (I’m expecting a bit of stick for this) extend BBM’s contract for a year. I think the loan signings have been underwhelming this season as a whole, and whilst there are a lot of players/passengers playing out their contracts, I think we have something to build on should we go down and restart fresh after constant relegation battle after relegation battle with remnants of the second Hill era. We’re comfortable on the ball, that’s a fact that I won’t have anybody argue with, so why we go long constantly is unfathomable to me. I’ve all but conceded relegation, so looking towards a season in League Two, we can build a really capable team with the playing budget that would hopefully be on offer with the high earners out of contract. The main areas in the team for me are obviously a left back, but a keeper that doesn’t change year after year, somebody along the lines of Lillis who we know we can rely on in their prime years rather than young, on loan goalkeepers. I’m not sure there is anything left to say that hasn’t been said, but whatever the outcome, whoever is in charge managerial-wise and whatever league we get back into Spotland watching Dale in, we’ve got to get behind the boys. |

I caved last night and ended up watching until the red card. Brian is getting a hell of a lot wrong, which is sad, and I am not shifting any blame from his shoulders - however, the players have to step up now. McLaughlin walking for throw-ins when we need every second we can get with the ball on the pitch is totally embarrassing to watch. Where is the intensity? BBM saying we couldn't match Burton's intensity? WHY NOT? Intensity isn't something that comes naturally, it's about being willing to put yourself about a bit and showing even the slightest amount of care in what you're doing. Morley needs a rest. Simple as that. He's played all season and I can't remember one good game. His passing is shot, trying the same things over and over, I don't think he can particularly defend either so what does he actually do? Just because he's an academy product doesn't mean he should get a pass to walk into the team every week, because as performances go he's been underwhelming to say the very least. I rate Keohane as a decent squad player, and he performed well at right back in the first half of the season, but putting a player who won't cross with his left foot at left back is plain idiocy. Done started to put a few good performances in and he gets dropped. If him and Baah were on the the left wing last night we might have actually scored. Humphries gets no support whatsoever, and I really feel for the lad because he should be banging goals in left, right and centre. Average of 51 points over the 5 previous (completed) seasons it takes for teams to stay up. As it stands, you could keep us in this league for another season and I highly doubt we'd get anywhere near it. [Post edited 3 Mar 2021 13:20]

Not a dig at you in the slightest, but he obviously did next to nothing up top because he's a defender/defensive mid, not a target man. Lund's goals dried up when he was put into that role, so no wonder a defensive player can't do anything there either. If we're going to have a long outball, Humphries is more than capable to win a ball in the air, and that would mean Shaughnessy being able to play in his natural position providing much needed cover for the centre-backs, with a centre-mid or wingers attacking what Humphries knocks down. It's something that anybody who's watched 90 minutes of football would be able to see, you'd think. |

I'll buy the iFollow pass for the sake of boosting the club coffers by a tenner, but I'll probably put my laptop to more use by finishing my Football Manager season. Can't wait to see the customary "Wilks ('1), ('7), ('14)" notifications flash up. |
