| Forum Thread | Glenn Murray - what a man at 17:42 17 Mar 2019
Noticed when the final pen was being taken, he had his back to it, then when all the other Brighton players charged towards the goalie, he was obviously chuffed but his first thought was to turn and commiserate with the Millwall players. Class! |

Mm. 9 July 2018 It is with regret that we find ourselves in this position, but it is important that we stress we are fully supporting Russ through this difficult time. Russ is currently appealing the decision. However, with the start of the season just over a month away, we must act quickly to put things in motion to ensure Russ’ role and responsibilities are covered for the period he is away from the club. 17 Jul 2018 New Company Document Available Form: AP03 - Appointment of secretary SECRETARY APPOINTED MISS GINA MELISSA BUCKLEY Purchase a copy of this document for £4.99 + VAT New Company Document Available Form: TM02 - Termination of appointment of secretary APPOINTMENT TERMINATED, SECRETARY RUSS GREEN Purchase a copy of this document for £4.99 + VAT |

There was a question on University Challenge tonight about the surname Lund. I must admit I was half asleep and didn’t take too much notice, but you know how it is. One thought leads to another, and the next thing you are googling the name ‘Lund’. There I found on wiki that it is a Scandinavian name, and an extensive list of people called Lund, none of whom I have heard of, except for one, viz Matthew Lund. The next click, I was on to his wiki page. Reading this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matty_Lund, what an untold, but imagined, story of persiverance and self-belief! How many times must the guy have wondered if he was going to get a good go with a football league club? How must he have felt when he finally found someone to fully believe in his ability? Or was it that he was still going through a natural develoment? How lucky is it for Rochdale AFC that he found a manager three years ago to give him the opportunity that he must have wondered if he was ever going to get? How must he have felt when he finally got an international cap for his country? On reflection, there are eight million stories like this in The Naked City. This has been one of them. Time to complete my sleep, I think. |
| Forum Thread | News or not? at 16:40 3 Aug 2016
On the 12.00 Radio Manchester news today - “Rochdale manager Keith Hill has told BBC Radio Manchester that he could have moved away from Spotland this summer if he had chosen to, but Hill says he is now focused on the season ahead with Dale and wants to see a realistic improvement from his players.” Is this new news or old? |
| Forum Thread | Offside! at 21:46 3 Jan 2015
For "And it's up to Francis Offside", read "And it's up to Done Offside". Are they father and son or what? Why does Mattie persist on standing yards offside every time the opposition clear the ball? Is it because he is exhausted from all the effort he puts in? Is it in order to keep their defence from playing a high line? Is it on the instructions of the manager? I really don't understand it or like it. The number of times he is (correctly) given offside is sooo frustrating. |

I thought the referee yesterday was excellent, despite the efforts of one or two of our fans to wind him up before the game had hardly started! Probably the best I have seen this season. Good, quick decisions, no fussiness and kept the game going, spoke to anyone who needed speaking to, gave correct yellow cards. Perhaps 3 minutes added time was a bit stingy in the second half though. It was also good to see a team playing with the same ethics as the Dale - perhaps even better, as I never noticed anyone with the niggling fouls one of ours is inclined towards. They showed good sporting behaviour, eg one of their guys consoling Lund whilst waiting for him to receive treatment. Also no time wasting when 2 - 1 up. I also like the way the club involve the away fans in the onfield activities before the game and at half-time. All in all, a good day out, spoiled only by the result. |
| Forum Thread | Player Ratings and Reports at 22:46 20 Oct 2014
I was just wondering how many people send in their ratings. Also do they actually reflect the feelings of the Rochdale fans at the game? The average ratings given for the Dale was 6.0 and for the Gills was 7.7. You cannot be serious! We totally outplayed them. Apart from the missed chances, everyone had a fine game, IMHO. My average for the Dale was 7.8 (I am not concerned with individual ratings for the opps). It seems to me that some people gauge their ratings and their comments on the result and not on the game! I wonder what the average ratings would have been had the opponents not got their scruffy equaliser? |

Magnificent hat-trick and 3 well-taken goals or 3 easy goals against inferior oppostion? |
| Forum Thread | It's just like watching Rochdale ... at 20:50 19 Jun 2014
Playing well, but every deflection goes to the opposition! Uruguayan captain's foul on Sturridge was a yellow card - why do refs apply the laws differently when someone already has a yellow?! Two great efforts from Rooney. Suarez - who else?! |
| Forum Thread | Finance for dummies at 00:09 9 Apr 2014
I have been trying like billio to follow and understand the thread started by judd - http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/108641/page:3#.U0RxR2dOXFg There are shedloads of questions that occur to me, mainly because, as the title to my thread suggests, I am a dummy in these matters. Rather than asking all of them, perhaps I can start with one of them. Can someone explain how the most recent figures from the Denehurst Park Rochdale Ltd. AGM, given by 49thseason - http://companycheck.co.uk/company/02483618/DENEHURST-PARK-ROCHDALE-LIMITED/finan - Year 2013 Cash £ 11 Net Worth £ 793,328 Total Current Liabilities £ 237,791 Total Current Assets £ 11,740 correlate with the Club statement of yesterday, 7th April 2014 - “Denehurst Park Stadium Company has been struggling financially for many years and the debts of the company are in excess of £670,000, and rising on a daily basis.” How do the figures in the company report explain the fact that the DPR company is in excess of £670,000 in debt? There are obviously many contributors who understand how things work, but please can someone put it in simple terms? If Liabilities minus Assets = £237,791 - £ 11,740 = £226, 051 (so £226, 051 in debt, , i.e. MINUS £226, 051), how come (1) the net worth is given as PLUS £793,328, and (2) the club statement says it is MINUS £670,000? Sorry, just realised that is TWO questions! |
| Forum Thread | Hilly on DalePlayer at 21:34 31 Aug 2013
His interview had me in stitches. 'I'm not a taxi driver by trade. I'm not a DIY manager' Discuss. Has anyone any idea what he is saying? Not that I care - I think the man is a genius - really intelligent and I'm sure cleverer people than me will know what he is talking about. Rhys Bennett would like to play centre back. Keith - 'Would you rather play right back or substitute?' Brilliant. He has two new players lined up - any ideas? |
| Forum Thread | Youths' match at 13:39 11 Feb 2013
Published on the OS - 10:05 Thursday, 7th February 2013 - "Dale's under 18 side take on Walsall in the third round of the Youth Alliance Cup this afternoon (Thursday 7th February). The match, which is being played at Radcliffe Borough's Stainton Park, has a 1pm kick-off." Does anyone know the result please? It hasn't appeared yet. It was good to see Joel Logan get another run out on Saturday. It was difficult to give an accurate appraisal on the 10 minutes he was on, but he played with confidence and did not look out of place. |
| Forum Thread | Craig D or Kevin L? at 20:07 3 Mar 2012
In my mind, both are immense players. I have always thought of Craig as a future England captain - not just because of the way he plays, but also the way in which he marshalls the defence and encourages those around him. I think Kevin is his equal in defending, slightly better in the air, not as good at giving the long ball to the opposite wing, but better at anticipating and nipping in front of the intended recipient of a pass. Kevin might be a tad slower than Craig though in a foot race. Who do people think is the better defender? Either way, wouldn't it be great if we could sign Kevin? I don't think it is going to happen, though. Even if he doesn't make the Burnley first team, surely clubs with more money than us will want to snap him up. |
| Forum Thread | Contract situation at 15:27 30 Jun 2011
Could someone kindly check and complete the contract dates for me? All up to June - Matt Edwards 2012 Joe Widdowson 2012 Marcus Holness ? Jason Kennedy 2013 Brian Barry-Murphy 2012 Gary Jones 2013 Joe Thompson 2012 Nicky Adams ? Andrew Tutte 2013 Chris O'Grady 2012 Ashley Grimes 2013 Jean-Louis Akpra Akpro 2012 Anthony Elding 2012 Simon Hackney 2012 Reece Gray Helio Andre If we sign another goalkeeper and say 3 defenders, this would give us a squad of 20. I suggest that this is a good size and would give us the luxury of probably not needing to sign loan players. Any thoughts on this? |
