…because they didn’t make play offs. Absolutely mental. They’ll surely fall away after that. Smacks of overestimating themselves. Rosenior was one of the three manager of the season nominees. Mental |
| Forum Thread | What could happen this week? at 17:31 28 Aug 2023
I know the messages coming from the club via GA are that no further business will happen, but with Premier League squads being (panic) refined as a few crumbs falling off the table for skint Championship clubs to pick on, surely there might be a couple of surprises this week? A striker, hopefully; and the whereabouts of Tim Iroegnebum (sp.) has been deafeningly silent so far this window so unless I missed him going somewhere I wonder if there’s a chance he might come back again. A midfield trio of Tim + Field + Colback would be decent. |

Long time lurker, post less often now. But CLIVE - I want you to know how valued you and your writing is. You sink a lot of time and thought and effort and hard work into Loft For Words and I know how highly everyone thinks of you. I look forward to your prose before and after every game - and it either helps soften the lows or enjoy the highs. THANK YOU |

Bentford signed Winston Reid from Wet Spam. Unfortunately that's an excellent signing. |

I'm aware of the proliferation of Fenerbache fans flooding QPR strings on Twitter, demanding BOS, levelling abuse at us etc. You'd think they were urgently demanding Adel in his prime.. But I'm a bit perplexed about it all. It's BOS. A middling-to-good Championship player. Not consistent for long enough to be considered the best in the division. Not great scoring stats. Not great assist stats. Hasn't almost-single-handedly propelled an otherwise crap team towards the upper echelons of the division. NO. He's been a cog in the wheel of a medium-to-sh!t team. I really don't get the sycophancy with him. Yes, we'll be slightly worse off without him; but let's be clear - he wasn't an outstanding star for us. Chrissy Willock might well step up and shine now. Don't let the door hit your hars on the way out |

Me too. Final straw today. In an anti-Christmas manoeuvre I’ve run out of goodwill |

We're a bit too crap. That's what the data suggests (our record over the last 20 games or so). Same old problems (crap defence) not being addressed. Not brave enough often enough. A young team could be encouraged to be more fearless. Having said that (and I know I've posted negative comments on here today), I do understand that we are a smaller club, finding our feet having got disproportionately shafted by the authorities with an excessive FFP penalty (while a quarter of the teams in the Championship contnue to somehow go unpunished in plain sight (Derby, Forest, Birmingham, Stoke, Middlesboro), cutting our cloth and getting our house back in order - so we're not going to be storming away. I just dismay at a seemingly collective acceptance that this is the best we can be. We CAN defend better. We CAN be braver. We CAN try our luck more. We CAN assert ourselves more. And get a fckn defensive coach in for gods sake. |

I also want to say this: Barbet is a massive fanny and nowhere near good enough. Able to pull off the odd 50 yard diagonal ping; but cannot defend. I don't like him, and I wish we'd got Flint or Hector in so he could be kept off the pitch. Fckn liability. [Post edited 22 Oct 2020 10:41]

Agree. I look at the squad and worry (lack of firepower, lack of creativity, lack of defensive know-how); but then consider half the other teams in the Championship and if I supported them I'd feel exactly the same. I suppose that constitutes a pretty level playing-field (with a few exceptions [££££] - Naaarrich, Spudford, Bournmuff, Bentfart etc), and therefore quite exciting. |

Danny Drinkwater. The scum swallow the vast proportion of his wages. Season-long loan. Had a troubled past two seasons. To give steel in the middle, experience, and might want to prove himself all over again. [Post edited 10 Sep 2020 16:08]

F ck Gareth Southgate. What has this two-bob championship turd done to wear the three lions? And why is he still picking Pickford and Dier? He made a big song and dance about picking players on merit and in form. He’ll be bringing Rooney back next. |
