We are 5th in the league table, Halifax next at home, what's not to like! |
| Forum Thread | Next season at 21:55 19 Jun 2023
I don't post very much on here, but do read the posts on here quite regularly. Most of the posts have been very critical of the Club and quite rightly so, especially regarding the playing staff and tactics. The last 4 or 5 seasons have been dreadful. For some strange reason I am looking forward to next season, but only if certain things change. 1. We throw away the training manual bollox. 2.We stop employing people to make the players look at statistics and pie chart graphs in the classroom. 3.On the pitch, we pass, receive, move into space, edge of box, shoot. Repeat. 4.Do not pass back unless the defender comes under pressure. 5. Stop passing sideways. 6. Obviously at our level, we will lack skill, but we can make up for this by being supremely fit and determined. Is football not a very simple game? It used to be. It also used to be very entertaining. |

Anybody know when I can buy one? |

I see that our allocation sold out yesterday, with about 500 remaining for purchase on the day. It looks like we will sell the full allocation, so all we can do is get behind the boys and try to install some fight and confidence into Saturdays performance. Such a big, big game. Let's hope that the effort off the pitch is reciprocated on the pitch. [Post edited 2 Feb 2023 15:42]

| Forum Thread | How good is our Club. at 16:55 18 Nov 2016
It amazes me to look at all the other league clubs who are currently undergoing turmoil. Take Chesterfield for example. Average gates are at least double ours, probably triple when they aren't struggling. The only difference is that their club appears to be run as a so called "business model," whereby the chairman seems to control everything, especially the financial side by engaging in financial deals in businesses that he and his fellow directors are involved in. I really don't think that they give a damn about the club or the supporters, they are just there for businesses reasons. Dave Allen, the ex Chesterfield Chairman, has just pulled out and left the club with no certain future. How and why did he mis-manage Chesterfield's financial affairs? As the Chairman he is surely privvy to all transactions that take place within the club itself and should make sure that no overspending takes place. Where has the money gone? I'm sure that you can work that one out for yourselves. I can only see Bury going the same way. Thank goodness that I support a club that cares, that doesn't overspend and doesn't fritter away money. Good on you. And good on Keith Hill, the Messiah who keeps on working miracles! [Post edited 18 Nov 2016 17:21]

Just watched the highlights from the Coventry game. Their second goal. Couldn't believe that Canavan just let the ball roll past him without making any attempt to intercept it. Go and have a look. Unbelievable at this level. No wonder we are conceding goals. [Post edited 23 Oct 2016 18:37]

What was the initial allocation given to Rochdale. We have now sold out and it is pay on the day. Could be a decent turnout. [Post edited 21 Oct 2016 20:28]

| Forum Thread | Let's concentrate on tonight at 08:22 19 Apr 2016
Whilst I appreciate the anger and concern regarding season ticket pricing, let's please not lose sight of tonight's massive game against Gillingham. Hopefully, during the next week or so, the board will put together an amended pricing plan that most of us will be happy with. But back to tonight. Give the lads your support, after all, arn't nights like this the real reason we turn up and support our football club? Come on the Dale! |
| Forum Thread | What if... at 16:57 17 Apr 2016
We beat Gillingham? We will be in an incredible position. We talk about big games, but this one is absolutely massive. Could this be the biggest game in our 109 year history? Most certainly. We are under no pressure whatsoever as "little old Rochdale" shouldn't even be anywhere near a possible play-off place, taking into account our attendances and resources. How does Hilly do it? Absolutely amazing. Now, what about the people of Rochdale, including the surrounding Boroughs. Will all of you sports fanatics get off your sofas and give this incredulous Rochdale football team your support on Tuesday? Hmm... As far as I am aware, there are no big European matches that night, so no excuses for not attending. A large crowd could be the difference between winning or not. If you can't get excited about Gillingham on Tuesday, then I feel there is something mentally wrong with you. Just be there, let's carry on the dream. Whilst everyone is looking at the Premiership and Leicester, there is possibly another miracle happening in League 1. |
| Forum Thread | Joe Bunney at 09:13 10 Apr 2016
This lad has had a remarkable transformation in the last couple of months and played brilliantly, leading the line at Peterborough. Joe was absolutely knackered when he came off to a standing ovation by the Dale fans. Well done Joe! Keep it up. |
| Forum Thread | The match tomorrow! at 23:43 8 Apr 2016
It's now 11.30pm, I' m sat in a pub in Peterborough having a great time with my missus! We decided to come down today so we wake up refreshed on Saturday ready for the game. We are due a win away against these. Well done to all the Dale fans who make it tomorrow, I know it is a fair way to travel, but let's get behind the lads for the final push. Cheers and good night! Up the Dale! (Yes, I have had a few beers, but no spelling mistakes!). |
| Forum Thread | Send him back! at 16:42 12 Dec 2015
John osullivan. Against Port Vale Hilly substituted him as he had already been booked and then became a liability. Against Bury didn't contribute anything and was subsequently subbed. Today, against a poor Swindon side he gets sent off after 12 minutes. What is he contributing? Nothing. Let his team mates down today. |
| Forum Thread | Doncaster on Saturday! at 18:08 9 Apr 2015
I have been attending matches at Spotland for many years.I have witnessed many important games but have just realized, today, that the game against Doncaster is absolutely massive. If we were to get a win there, then anything could happen. We have absolutely nothing to fear on Saturday. We all need to turn out in great numbers to cheer the lads on as I suspect we could be witnessing one of the greatest accomplishments of this football club since conception in 1907. Can you imagine another wild, mad weekend like last season in Newport! Whatever you were planning this Saturday, cancel it and get yourselves to Doncaster! The weather will be fantastic and it will be another great away day from the Dale support. See you all there. PS. God Hilly deserves us ALL to be there! |
