| Forum Thread | Give the youth a chance? at 09:42 28 Apr 2013
Wouldn't it be refreshing if rather than persisting with the parasites like Park, Granero, Hoillet etc etc that Redknapp actually gave some of the youth players a chance? With no Townsend or Taarabt why not give Skapetis a game? Not Bothroyd. Instead of Park/Grenaro why nor Sutherland? You can't tell me Magri would be any worse that Bosingwa? We're down so it doesn't matter if 'they're not ready/good enough'. I know I would support/get behind these kids over the money suckers swanning around. Just a thought and no way would Redknapp do it. |
| Forum Thread | Sacking it off..... at 21:33 20 Apr 2013
I'm done for this season and not going again. No big deal perhaps given we are down and only a few games left, but I use to live for QPR, couldn't bare missing a match be it home or away. But I absolutely hate going, hate watching the parasites swanning around taking the piss out of me, us supporters and the owners. 7 hours of my day travelling to watch that toss at Loftus Road when I could be spending that time and money on my family. I'm done with them for now. I might be back next season but reading Redknapp's post match comments and that of Phillip Beards in the programme I won't be as it stands. I'm not angry, just so sad that it's got that bad that I really have had enough. I simply don't enjoy it anymore. |

Not holding out much hope, but I'm after an extra West Ham ticket for Mrs F. I can meet and pay cash at the Spurs match, or can do a bank transfer immediately. Thanks in advance! |
| Forum Thread | Loads of positives.... at 19:39 1 Sep 2012
Despite a sluggish first 20 minutes when we looked liked we turned up having lost the game before it started, there were plenty of positives. - Granero's was excellent in the first half. - Park played better out wide rather than central. - Nelson the best centreback to play with MBia. - Improved defensively when Ferdinand went off. - Bosingwa was excellent and Fabio had his best game. - Zamora excellent and AJ did well in the last 30 minutes. Such a shame about the crappy defending for the second goal and conceding it with a couple of minutes of scoring. Though Hughes should have brought on Cisse when we were on top around 70 minutes, not when it went flat. All in all though, after the utter shambles vs Swansea and Norwich I very happy with aspects of that performance. |
| Forum Thread | Just got back - A few thoughts and observations..... at 18:37 18 Aug 2012
1/ There are a number of reasons why we lost today. Lets start with the obvious one. After you concede five goals at home to a relegation rival — the defense. The most obvious area that needed strengthening in the summer was the defense. We didn’t and started with Hill-Ferdinand-Onouha continuing where they left off for the majority of last year — appalling and shipping goals. 2/ The biggest worry today was the players gave up. At 3-0 and 4-0 they stopped playing, chasing their errors, stood with hand on their hips after yet another missed place pass. 3/ The 4th goal was a beauty of QPR defending standards. Taarabts shit free-kick hits the wall, Swansea break, Onouha hooks a clearance straight back to them to score. 4/ Rob Green was simply atrocious. Not just the first goal which was a howler but for a passage late in the first half when he was literally flapping at one cross after another that saw Swansea hit the crossbar and have it cleared off the line. A terrible debut and what looks like a terrible goalkeeper on this showing. 5/ We looked every bit a team of individuals for the vast majority of the game. Yeah we played ok for the first 20 minutes but in this time it was obviously Taarabt (trying too hard) and Cisse were not having good games. 6/ Thought Holliet was a positive in the first half particularly. Thought the game passed Park but for long periods, Fabio started well but like the rest of the team fell apart as the game went on. 7/ Why did Hughes sit on his hands and not make a change until we were 3-0 down? Only to make a change that bizarrely saw SWP come on and play wing back. Talking of SWP, late on when five yards out with the goal at his mercy managed to kick it into the upper tier in the only way SWP does in most games. After 30 minutes you knew it wasn’t Taarabt's and Cisse’s day so why not go with Zamora and Johnson? The game was lost and surely it was damage limitations. 8/ To summarise the term ‘a team of individuals’ has never been truer. That with a defense that has not been improved on from the team that shipped a ton of goals last year = disaster. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

1/ Safe to say all the players were 30% down on the level of performance we have had a home recently. While today was not as bad as the horror showings at Sunderland and Blackburn, there was an alarmingly lack a cutting edge and quality throughout. 2/ As feared today was another pretty standard away performance that we have become accustomed to with QPR. We never got started until very late the first half, pissing away almost half the match before actually getting going. The first 30 minutes was very poor indeed and we could have easily been a couple down and game over. 3/ Second half there was a lot more urgency, but having given WBA 1-0 lead they kept their shape and are well organized meaning our pathetic attacks came to nothing. 4/ Our build up play was at a snails pace with a pointless tactic of ‘getting it wide' 99% of the time when our final balls either over-hit, under hit or mis-placed. Despite 7/8 corners, each one was comfortably defended. We would get to byline countless times only to have our cross easily blocked for a pathetic corner. 5/ There was plenty of effort in the second half, just none of it of any quality. At times it looked like a plucky Championship side up against a Premiership team. 6/ Didn’t understand taking off Taarabt when losing. Yeah, not his greatest game but when losing a match when the quality of final balls has been atrocious why do you take off you most creative player? Not picking on SWP or Mackie but could anyone see them (or anyone else) supplying that killer pass/cross for the equaliser? For me, he would have been the last player to take off. 7/ Where was DJ Campbell today? What our attack needed was pace, not Helguson and Zamora considering our inability to cross a ball. We needed pace to chase down the WBA centreback and create space. 8/ Trying not to be too negative. At least we had a shot on goal (just the one), which is more than I usual see at an away match. It just puts us under huge pressure to win next week and relying on another Arsenal type performance from this squad of players. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Different game, same shit. For what it’s worth and in no particular order….. 1/ I was all for the sacking of Warnock citing that he had taken us as far as he can. But in watching the last 4-5 games and on reflection of the season as a whole, the club has been seriously let down by players I consider frauds and mercenaries. The one thing I will never accept from a QPR player is a lack of effort and desire. 2/ I look back at the signing of Joey Barton and wonder if this is where is all went wrong. On signing for the club he has become the instant captain, takes every free kick and corner, with every attack having to go through him. Last year we did perfectly fine with Taarabt being this pivotal point in the side. I noticed Adel getting very fcuked off today and rightly so, with Barton stood over yet another free kick eventually allowing Tawio of all players to have a shot. Barton doesn’t like Taarabt that is obvious from what you se on the pitch and have heard from him off the pitch. On the pitch he is not a captain. There is no talking, motivation, encouragement etc from him. Not once did he go and speak to Samba to get him to claim down. We will reflect on this season come the summer and point to a number of key factors behind why it went so very wrong and his signing and taking over the lead role in the side will be up there with why we have failed so badly. You can also just imagine what Barton is like on the training ground, in the dressing room etc. I might be barking up a tree with this but my opinion. 3/ 25 games into the Premiership season and our two best players were Clint Hill and Jamie Mackie. Say what you want about those two but they were the only ones who actually put a shift in. 4/ Mark Hughes got it wring today. That formation looked like it was thrown onto the players an hour before kick off rather than over a two-week training camp. It simply didn’t work. Then there was the Samba sending off which everyone saw was going to happen. Even Hughes saw it coming as Derry was warming up for 5 minutes, but no substitution was made. To then say we played well in the second half is just daft. It was an utter non-event and we could still be playing now and still not forced a real effort on goal. 5/ Relegation is inevitable now. Except for 4-5 games I really haven’t enjoyed this season and wouldn’t be overly fussed by relegation but for the financial ramifications of being saddled with tons of over paid, under performing footballers. | Forum Thread | No NFL / Super Bowl Thread? at 11:20 6 Feb 2012
Those New York Jerks and Patriots fans gone very quiet all of a sudden! Who would have thought that when the Giants lost to the Redskins in week 14, putting them on a 7-7 record that they would go and win the Super Bowl! Eli, the D-line, Cruz, Hicks, Jason Peirre-Paul, Manningham - BIG BLUE BABY! |
| Forum Thread | Just got back, a few thoughts/observations.... at 19:24 4 Feb 2012
1/ Despite the new recruits and millions spent it was the same old Rangers today. We were that comfortable at 1-0 after half an hour, playing that well I could only see us racking up three of four goals. We lost because of a number of factors. The sending off, the non-existent midfield once again, and some very poor performances from key men. 2/ Wolves were that bad, that even when down the ten men I thought we would win the game. Is a one man advantage that much of an advantage that Wolves suddenly looked like world-beaters? They ripped us apart in the second half which based on the first 30 minutes they were not capable of putting three passes together - but it was a case of the same old cracks in the QPR team painfully on show, that is the reason why a one man advantage felt like 2 or 3. With a better performing midfield (Barton & Derry) we would have won that game. 3/ Barton was as usual atrocious. As probably all ready mentioned on here, to give the ball away countless times today was criminal for a professional footballer. To do it for the umpteenth time 30 seconds into the second half, gifting Wolves their goal about summed him up today. 4/ Barton tried, I’ll give him that. Covered a fair few miles and didn’t hide. But the same can be said for Jamie Mackie. Just Mackie hasn’t played 200 games in the Premiership, get paid a fortune or spout his fat gob like he is some footballing god. If Barton were any other player he would be dropped without hesitation. Luckily for Joey we have no other option but persist with his average performances for the foreseeable. 6/ Like soooooo many games now, our central midfield was a major factor in losing the game. I’ve touched on Barton but poor old Derry really is seriously out of his depth and paired with Barton means we basically don’t have a midfield and as we saw at Villa and again today we are getting ripped apart. Again though, not really options to change it around. 5/ On to SWP. I was really looking forward to seeing him on the right side at long last. Unfortunately the same old issues with him are just as alarming today as it every other game this year. Zero end product, shoots when should pass, pass when should shoot, cutting inside and playing the wrong ball. He wasn’t all bad. He was involved in the goal and when he did beat his man and get to the touchline he knocked in a few good balls. But 15 odd games later and I’m still to see a good performance from him. 7/ Why did the majority give Cisse a standing ovation we he finally walked off the pitch after the sending off? I find this a very odd thing in football where a player who gets himself stupidly sent off get a round of applause from the crowd? The guy was an absolute moron to react as he did. 8/ The game was effectively over on 70 minutes when Zamora went off. A Fulham fan posted on here that he has been carrying ankle and Achilles injuries for a while now and was spot on. 9/ Watching Hulse challenge Bassong just made me cringe with embarrassment. 10/ Lets finish on a major positive though. One Adel Taarabt. Simply outstanding, one of the best team performances I’ve seen from him. |

1/ Trying not to be too downbeat but we really were utter garbage today, particularly attacking wise. Stood off Chelsea virtually all game and just watched Chelsea pass the ball around us. 2/ No passion, effort, desire and an overall horrendous lack of quality. We didn’t even look like a plucky League One team, let along a Premiership, as we created nothing — one shot on goal in the 96th minutes aside. 3/ Time and time again we had miss-placed passes, mis-controlling the ball, crap corners, no movement, basic throw-ins cocked up and so on. 4/ SWP played like every bit the right-footed winger asked to play ion the left. Continuously cut inside EVERY time he got the ball and every time lost the ball. SWP QPR career summed up with the last kick of the game when he was just outside the box with no player within 10 yards of him and he hit the half volley into the upper loft. Mackie was hopeless as ever. Not his fault, he is simply not good enough and shouldn’t be in the team but there is no other option right now. 5/ Kenny is obviously carrying an injury with his goal kicks barely making it to the halfway line putting us continuously on the back foot. He actually signalled to the bench in the first half that he was struggling. I can see a replacement coming in before Wednesday. 6/ Smith up front with Helguson painfully didn’t work. I like Smith but just like last week he should only be used as sub for us to bring on against lower opposition. When he starts games against strong opposition the game simply passes him by. 7/ Macheda is simply turd. How he picks a wage up to be a footballer is beyond me. Sadly as it stands he (and Hulse!) will be starting on Wednesday at Villa. My word. 8/ Three days left in the window and we are pinning our hopes on a 34 year old player to score the goals to keep us up. Helguson is now picking up knocks and legs probably shot to pieces after the efforts of the first half of the season. If we fail to bring in at least one quality striker we really will be in massive trouble. 9/ On the positives we really did look at lot more organised. Defensively again a huge improvement with Chelsea having next to nothing on target — an amazing feat considering Hall and Hill where playing. 10/ Another positive is that is surely the last we will see of Hill and Hall. They did ok today but we all know they are just one good 90 minutes away from a shocker. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

| Forum Thread | Barton kicking off on Twitter again.... at 16:40 20 Jan 2012
Sorry just seen a thread below. Anyway, what an utter embarrassment to the club. I really can't stand Barton. Joey7Barton Lost his job and the guy is blaming everyone but himself! Embarrassing, time to look in the mirror mate. Last thing we need right. Big week Joey7Barton If I talked about Neil, he'd do well to get another job. Twitter cost him his job???? I can think of a million other things! #shutitwarnock Joey7Barton Looking forward to the game against Wigan tomo. 1st time in a while we actually have a plan and seem organised. #3ptsneeded [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

1/ Lets start with the positives I guess. We won, a clean sheet, it didn’t go to extra time (I would cried), Ferdinand and scoring from a corner for the first time in five years. I suppose it was all on show for Hughes tonight exactly what bad state our squad is in. If Hughes keeps us up it will be a miracle. 2/ Ok the bad stuff. 9 out of the 11 players that started tonight will be starting on Saturday. I really hope that Derry/Hill/Mackie are either dropped or moved on asap. The sad thing is these three players will shortly not be remember for the wonderful season they had least year, but for them being utterly of our their depths this season. Derry’s legs have gone completely, Clint Hill bless him is just sh1t and Mackie a cracking Championship player. 3/ Next up is Bothroyd. Who wasn’t that bad tonight, he tried more than usual (I know) but jeeez for the kids sake lets loan him out or cut our losses for his sake. He has had 20 odd games for the club now and just doesn’t have it in him. Not his fault but like with Hulse, it’s time to say ‘that one just didn’t work out’ and move on. I mean when Bothroyd is being shown up by the brilliant Helguson when he came one….a 34-year-old Championship journeyman to be fair to him, who has been magnificent it must be said. 4/ I take it Hughes, like Warnock really doesn’t like/rate Campbell. Two full games sitting on his arse. Perhaps there is an attitude issue or something, but to not even get a look it and to have players like Bothroyd and Smith ahead of you, then you just wonder. 5/ We were on the ropes for a good 20 minutes in that second half, with the main problem being Hills lack of pace/positioning. Unfortunately watching that tonight we really need 8-10 players in this window we have problems all over the pitch that I just don’t think is a confidence thing, more so a lack of ability. 6/ If you thought Warncok made bizarre subs, then Hughes will take some getting use to. SWP must have played in five positions tonight for example and we ended the game with arguable our three worse players Hill/Mackie/Derry still on the pitch. 7/ Macheda is just another DiCarmine. 8/ I know we shouldn’t get too downbeat but I honestly fear from us watching that tonight. I think a number of players are beyond help/coaching and just lack ability as well as confidence. As said daily on this forum, but unless we bring in 5-6 quality signings who can hit the ground running I think we’re fcuked. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

1/ Thankfully watched from the sofa this week but besides the first 20 minutes it was a case of the ‘same old, same old’ I'm afraid. 2/ Started strongly and faded very badly. The game was over after an hour as we did nothing with no ambition from then. I would have thought we would have been more positive and try and get the equaliser, but is seems we were happy to settle for a 1-0 defeat. 3/ We are so ponderous in possession of the ball, worse than slow motion. Backwards-sideways-backward-slow-slower-standstill-backwards. 4/ Derry had a nightmare game up the booking, from then on he just watched rest of the game pass him by. Derry wasn’t alone as there was a number of either piss poor or bang average performances out there today. 5/ Not wanting to get too picky with that result/performance as I think (hope) next week we will have 3-4 new additions. But honestly I really hope that is the last we see of Bothroyd, Hill, Derry and if we’re being brutally honest you can add Smith, Mackie, Gabbidon and Buzz to that list. 6/ Another bang average performance from our left winger (?) and defensive midfielder (!?) SWP. Not sure what’s up with that lad, though MH didn’t make it easy for him today. 7/ The positives was the first 20 minutes and a much improved performance from Mackie. |
