Can’t believe some of the fees I’ve read.. 3-5 million? We as a club have to play hardball over players like this that are only going to move to the Prem. if he moves to a Premier League side, has one good season and a Euro’s and he’s worth crazy money. Look at Ake, Maguire etc.. Not that he’s already worth it, but the potential is there. If he wanted to leave, I’d let him go at £20-25 million with a 15% sell on clause. He’s only going to go up in value the more he proves himself at club and country. |
| Forum Reply | RICO HENRY WINS APPEAL at 05:23 29 Jul 2020
Having played the game as a hard tackling midfielder, my opinion was always that if I touch the ball before the man, it’s a good tackle. However, this isn’t Sunday league. I fully expected this not to be overturned. For me, it’s the speed he comes in at, if Roberts had got there first, Rico is going too fast to pull out of the challenge and could seriously hurt Roberts. |
| Forum Reply | That squad with a Proven Championship Manager at 19:13 28 Jun 2020
Potter with this squad, I think yes. However, had Potter stayed I don’t think that we have the squad we have. He brought in Mckay, Asoro and Celina. (A couple more also?) That cost us somewhere between £5-7 million. Under Cooper: we have players like Woodman, Gallagher, Wilmot, Brewster, who have all been managed by Cooper with the England squad. I am completely against Cooper’s tactics 70% of the time, however it’s difficult to know if Potter would have replaced James and Mcburnie as effectively, with the budget we had. From an owners point of view, Cooper is ideal as he can recruit cheap loans and keep costs down. If we could have Potter as manager and Cooper as head of recruitment (Assistant manager), then I think we’d make the playoffs. |
| Forum Reply | Social distancing in football at 16:46 21 Jun 2020
What I don’t understand is all of these players have been tested, and tested negative in order to play. So why do they need to social distance at all? |
| Forum Reply | Has our PM made any comments about the protests? at 00:07 8 Jun 2020
He needs to come out and make a stand against the protests, now. However, he will get branded a racist for doing so. So I expect him to stay quiet for as long as possible. |
| Forum Reply | Man Utd ready to loan out Dan James ... at 18:57 7 Jun 2020
Can’t play for United because of his theatrics... Can think of plenty of players for that horrible team over the years that love to throw themselves all over the place. Rashford is the frontrunner for United currently. Dan James gets kicked all over the place because he is just too quick for most defenders trying to mark him. |

Absolutely astonished at the amount of people at these protests, as well as the amount of people who do not seem to understand the argument against the protest. Nobody is arguing against the reason for such a protest, I can’t speak for everyone but I am very much behind the reasons for doing so. However, to gather in such high volumes when there is a national pandemic is nothing short of idiotic. The only responses in debate I have encountered seem to be: - it is more important than Covid-19, it’s been going on much longer - what about everyone down the beaches Well firstly, yes it is a huge problem across the world and predominantly in America and has been for a long long time. The size on these protests could have happened any time prior to lockdown, or any time after lockdown, why now? Yes there is the horrendous case of what has happened recently, but these protests are much larger than one incident. On the point of those going to to beaches, I have not been myself, but my reaction has been the exact same as to those protesters - idiots. There have been over 40,000 deaths recorded in the UK so far, this isn’t a case of picking one over the other. The UK should be working together to fight both issues. The protesters are protesting over racism during a pandemic which is four times more likely to infect the BAME community? How does that make any sense. It is a massive kick in the teeth to all of our key frontline workers. Those NHS staff who will potentially have to deal with the second spike. The police who have been working on the frontline throughout the pandemic, are now dealing with violent protests. What a fantastic way to show appreciation to the work they have carried out. COVID-19 does not infect based on if you are a good samaritan or not. |
| Forum Reply | Season ticket holders get free live streams at 12:27 6 Jun 2020
Non season ticket holders would have to pay £90 for the remaining games? Season ticket holders get to watch the remaining games they’ve paid for, plus 5 away as compensation for not having the live experience. Not sure where your £5 saving figure comes from? |
| Forum Reply | Season ticket holders get free live streams at 19:45 5 Jun 2020
I think this is a fair deal. As a season ticket holder you continue to get the 4 remaining home games, as well as the 5 away matches for free on stream. If none of this had of happened I would have seen the 4 home games and had planned on 2 of the away games. So I get to see more games for less money than I would have paid. Yes we are losing out on the match day experience, but there’s nothing they can do about it. If someone doesn’t like the deal, they can simply take the refund, so I struggle to see why people are frustrated. It’s like walking into a shop and seeing a deal on, and being in uproar because you don’t want the deal. If you don’t want it, don’t take it, take the refund. |
| Forum Reply | If the Cham'p doesn't resume, should WBA & Leeds replace Villa & Norwich in PL? at 17:15 28 May 2020
Agreed. Although if we were in Leeds position 7 points clear, I’m not sure my stance would be quite the same. With the Premier league set to continue, teams will be relegated. My guess would be the championship will finish too, but if it didn’t I think they would use the same PPG method and promote the top two. |

Less than 1% of staff and players tested positive, more players will miss out through injury. Get on with it. |
| Forum Reply | ST update at 14:14 22 May 2020
Short answer, they shouldn’t. Yes they are on more money than others, but they are also forced to retire at 35-38 roughly. They are under contract here and although it’s not a job for them, it is likely to be their main or even only source of income for their families. I think the question to ask to those who have said they have / would take a pay cut to help reduce the chance of redundancies, would you do the same if you knew you could immediately get work and a likely raise if you left? The reason wages are so high in football is because if one club won’t pay it, another will. |
| Forum Reply | ST update at 00:20 22 May 2020
You are quite literally not being dictated to. If you want the refund you can have it. The stick Birch is coming under for trying to manage the finances is quite simply astonishing. Yes the money should be coming from higher powers but that isn’t going to happen, he is doing what he can for the benefit of the club, not himself. |
| Forum Reply | Will the PL and Championship be completed at 14:34 13 May 2020
Point missed, no surprise... Businesses are returning that aren’t ‘essential’, football isn’t essential but it’s a business. It will return, people are going to have to get over it I’m afraid. |
| Forum Reply | Will the PL and Championship be completed at 01:03 13 May 2020
Prem finished IMO but nothing else. Those who say it’s all about greed, yes it’s about money. Is that only an issue when football comes back because of money? The reason every other company is coming back across the UK is because of money also. Is Deliveroo essential work? No... They’ve been operating for weeks. Business owners at every level are attempting to work now if they can prove it’s safe to do so. Of course football are going to attempt to do the same. |

Have been cycling every day doing roughly the same route, the increase over the past few days has been crazy. Many people seem to want to abide by rules, unless the suns out of course. There must be some kind of immunity while the suns out... |
