Just watched this show on Youtube. Amazing goal by Best in USA and a great volley by Marsh at Loftus Road. Also a game at Fulham where Marsh tries to get the ball off Best ? . Imagine the grief someone would give on this forum if that happened now.

Could we have won the 1970 World Cup

I've been watching some of the World cup programmes on TV at the moment and something got me thinking. At the time of the 1970 tournament we had some of the best players in the world playing in the old English first division and they were not foreign . They were all from the UK. If we could have added players like Best, Law, Bremner, Jennings ( instead of Bonetti)Jimmy Johnstone and Lorimer to that squad I'm sure we would have won the 70 world cup . And playing as GB/UK we could of dominated World football for years.

My only gripe about Saturday is the quality of the Derby coffin. Having seen photos of past coffins the one on saturday was very poor. Especially when compared to 67. Com' on lads make an effort next time.

Derby Players on Bonus £4.5 million

Derby County players will be due a massive bonus if they beat QPR in the Premier League promotion playoff.

The Mirror says Derby County’s heroes will split a staggering £4.5million bonus if they make the Premier League.

Steve McClaren’s Rams are in for a major jackpot in the play-off final with QPR on Saturday.

The pot will be carved up based on appearances - with ever-present keeper Lee Grant in for the maximum sum of around £400,000.

I assume our lot get paid so much more than this that they dont need a bonus. Just hope we dont get an 86 reaction on the day when someone tells them just before kickoff that they aren't getting any bonus.

He was signed by Sexton for Man U only for Gregory to pull the plug on the deal at the last minute. He said there are news photos of him signing etc. Dont remember that but I was very young at the time. Any of you old Rs out there remember this. I would of thought he might of got some stick for it when it didnt happen but dont remember that either
