| Forum Thread | Right, I'm off... at 07:18 20 Mar 2016
.... To do the Hastings half marathon. If anyone is about and sees a 43 year old wheezing across The Ridge in a slightly too tight Guinness replica. Give him some sarcastic abuse to boost morale. "You don't know what you're doing" should do for starters. I wish I hadn't had that fifth pint during the rugby... Never mind, I'll run it off. Nik |

The team that became Queen's Park Rangers had only existed for 33 years when my grandmother was born, on Friday we celebrate her 100th birthday. Just as remarkable is that we celebrated my grandfather's 100th in August. They have been together for 86 years, with a small break for him to fight the Nazis. (He's Tottenham though!) Needless to say, I'll have to watch the highlights of Fulham on Saturday. Hats off to all of that generation. I don't think I'd have had the minerals. U R's. |

| Forum Thread | The 'man marker' at 03:13 29 Nov 2014
Folks I have to admit, I have very little knowledge or understanding about the modern game, but I am sure that if we had had someone with pace and guile man marking Aguero three weeks back, we may have had all three points. I remember being told by non-QPR fans that we had the best 'man marker' in the sport in Danny Maddix. My questions are these. Do man markers still exist? If not, why not, and could we employ one? (Genuine questions if any one can offer insight). |
| Forum Thread | Karl Henry at 01:19 1 Nov 2014
Despite having just lost at least 5 IQ points, I've just read the Express. According to it, Henry ran seven miles last game and regularly ran 8 when younger. This when suffering from intolerable asthma. Hat is off, hopefully this unsung hero will soon become 'sung'. I have a new hero and if he has to make way for Barton, I'll be upset. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/529907/EXCLUSIVE-QPR-Karl-Henry-London-C [Post edited 1 Nov 2014 4:00]

| Forum Thread | Somebody just asked me why I support Queen's Park Rangers. at 00:38 4 Sep 2014
Without thinking, I told him that it was none of his business. With hindsight I could have said a number of reasons. However, I quickly offered this child-like, poetic and somewhat arrogant response, and it felt good. I know enough about the history and present times of certain other clubs to render me a fan of that team, and yet I despise them. Had my father's uncle taken him to Luton vs West Ham on Boxing Day, 1953, I may well have been a 'Hatters' fan, but fortunately for my brother and I, he didn't. Strangely, Luton are a team I despise too, purely on the basis of the treatment my brother and I received by the locals one pre-season friendly/cup game a decade and a half ago (I can't remember the exact day, score or purpose of the game, we've all been there). So I wondered why people supported our club rather than another club, especially if like me, you've never lived anywhere near the club. I support the Hoops because of my father and his uncle, post-war. I wonder why others have an allegiance? [Post edited 4 Sep 2014 1:19]

| Forum Thread | Bookies' odds disturbing at 16:02 22 Aug 2014
Excitement for season tempered somewhat because I've just checked out some odds. QPR to win at Tottenham 6/1 QPR to be relegated. Second favourites at 7/4 (joint with Palace) QPR to finish bottom. 5/1 (bookies think we have more chance finishing bottom that beating Tottenham) The bookies think we have a difficult and ultimately disappointing season ahead, despite new signings. With this in mind, I am more than happy to finish 17th. |
