Just back in Portugal after a short trip back to Southampton to see family after 13 years. Jaysus what happeed to the centre ? Hardly recognised the place.. had a strange interaction with someone outside of West Quay .. who asked me aggresively if I was from here (I was with my Portuguese wife and kids plus my Ma who moved from Belfast in the 70s (I was born in 73)).. I replied used to be .. he then asked me where the nearest sex shop was ... Feckin expensive cost me over 2100€ for flights and hotel (feckin bastard ghosted me after having arranged and confirmed for 2 months on Booking.Com .. should have stayed in Ocean Village for around 600 quid .. ended up in Warsash in a feckin fixed caravan for almost a Grand... jaysus ...

So rather unsurprisingly according to Sky (who are repeating what is written in the Mirror) Orsic is for the off back to his former club. Saw him play in Qatar when I was covering the world cup over there but thought a strange signing if totally honest. However don´t know what he did to upset the managers as none of them gave him a run so did they not fancy him ? Was he forced on them by the board ?

The above is from the Notts Forest youtube channel due to the fact that the Saints one just show the Forest player bearing down on goal. 49 second shows the instance that Lyanco receives the ball from Ward Prowse he is instantly pressed and due to the fact that Ward Prowse stays still as does Walker Peters on the flank .. this press closes down any possible pass to either player. As Lyanco tries to break the press he is forced into a pass on his blindside to a similarly static Salisu (51 second) who is not up with play and therefore is easily dispossessed by the onrushing Johnson who cuts inside and runs on to goal .. Both Ward Prowse and Lyanco are too slow to keep up with the run of Awoniyi who receives and scores. I am assuming that it is Walker Peters on the far right touchline which bears the question ... where was Bella Kotchup beacuse in the moment that Awoniyi receives the pass there are only 3 Saints players (apart from Bazunu who was anticipating a shot from Johnson) in the frame - Salisu Ward Prowse and finally Lyanco. Now this poses the simple question EXACTLY what do they train during the week because it does not look as if finding space and making yourself available for a pass when a team mate is under pressure is high on the agenda. Neither does it seem that pressing as a unit is that important as it seems in the past 2 matches that I have watched, One player would go to press but the others are not in synch .. closing down passing lines etc therefore causing the press to be easily broken. I could go on but just writing this is depressing enough!!

Portugal are 4-1 up as I write this with that Benfica kid we were linked to last summer (well at least in the Portuguese press we were) scoring two of them and keeping Ronaldo on the bench (where he has gotten accostomed!!
Just watching the match here in rainy Portugal and noticed the Palace players are wearing poppies on their shirts, the officials likewise. 2 questions... 1 In October? Match around the 11th OK I know the obsession with the poppy over there! And 2.. Did the Saints kitman not get the memo?
Just appeared on one of the many Football transfer shows here that Verthongen (ex Spurs CB) has agreed a free transfer to Saints, as he wants to play more and Schmitt the new coach doesnt rate him. Definitely the experience that Saints are crying out for ... but isnt he ancient??
So am just watching one of the many transfer rumour shows that they show here on Portuguese TV when up pops this transfer rumour. Gonçalo Ramos is the new kid on the block at Benfica who is supposedly interesting Newcastle and supposedly now us. According to reports the President of Benfica Rui Costa (ex Portuguese international) met in Denmark with some representative of the club to discus the transfer. Here is the bad news .. his price is 40 million euro !! now if this is his agents plan to try and force Newcastles hand in the transfer I dont know. He is young, has scored this season, especially in the Champions League qualifiers. Can´t see it happening but thought you should know what is being talked about over here !
