Today was my first trip in about 6 months to Spotland due to several different reasons, but watching Andy Cannon today has filled me with so much optimism for the future of the club. EVERYTHING he did today was so positive. Whether at full back or what seemed to be central midfield in the second half he looked great.
Would love to see him in an advanced position after he put MK's left back on his backside a few times.
Full marks to Hilly and the staff for having the guts to play the youngsters in an out of position.
By the sounds of it and rightly so one of them is a striker. Sounds like he's REALLY pushing for it. He's stressed to the board how important they are and the board have listened (Rightly So Again).
Apologies if this has been mentioned in any of the other threads...
Just got ITV Regional news on and the sports presenter has said the club have imposed a media blackout before our game tomorrow in an attempt not to jinx our promotion run in?
I've recently taken over a junior football team for Pennine Juniors FC based in Norden and we are looking for players. They will be Under 13s next season, so the players that will be playing will be going into year 8 at school next year.
We are short a few players and we are currently in the middle of recruiting. If you have a son/nephew/grandson who is football mad and just wants a kick around, we a very friendly club recognised by the English FA and we have Charter Standard status. All of the coaches have Level 1/2 FA Coaching badges.
We do not pressure the players into a 'win at all costs' mentality, instead we operate more of a 'developmental' philosophy within the club. Each player gets AT LEAST 1 half of football whether that's starting the game or coming off the bench at HT.
We are currently training on Saturday mornings throughout the summer at Norden Community School. 9.15am-10.30am. The league starts in September.
If you know a child who would like to play, then please PM me on here or simply just bring them to training on a Saturday morning.
We have a registration night taking place tonight if anyone would like to just come along and ask any questions with no obligations to sign up. We will be at the Horse and Farrier pub in Norden from 7pm-8.45pm. We will be out the back near the bowling green.
Cavanagh has just tweeted 'training done, 2nd session starting'. He has then put a pic of players clearing snow off pitch. Can't get it linked up on here as I'm using phone to post this.
I think we'd have all taken that at the start of the week! Made up. A point away at 2nd in the table and a battling/scraping win away against 3rd from bottom.
