I don't see the point in upgrading the Academy. A Category A Academy costs a fortune to run. We made money from the Academy when we had the revenues to be able to buy up youngsters from other clubs for around £500k. We were in a position to buy the best youngsters from lower clubs. We don't have that money any more. The lads coming through are the local ones that bigger clubs don't want. When we have good ones then they move to bigger clubs. Until we can grow our revenues then don't waste what we have got producing players that leave on a free. Keep it as it is or even cut it back further to save money. |

How many of those 15,082 are season ticket holders who have given up attending many games? We are seeing a steady decline. The club need to do something to show that there is new impetus and drive to move in the right direction |

In early 2003, when we were bottom of the league an average gate of about 2,000 and without the proverbial pot to pee in, someone had the idea of halving the price of tickets. The attendance more than doubled and the club hasn't looked back since. We have maintained and grown that level of attendance ever since, even managing sell out crowds for the famous Hull game. A couple of cheap games with good performances can regenerate some interest from those who gave up on attending under Martin, Williams and the previous owners [Post edited 2 Apr 12:36]

We had earned a lot of money in the Premier league, a lot went on the facilities, but clearly very little on building a scouting network. The resigning of Ayew and Bony for excessive fees and wages, shows how little options we had. |

We were an established Premier league club having been there for 7 seasons. Then the inevitable happened. Last seasons pro.oted clubs are coming straight back. This seasons promoted teams will be 2 of the relegated clubs |

Realistically there are about 4000 Swansea til i die supporters. Those are the sort that went to the Vetch through the worst periods. The problem that we are going through is that we have had 7 years of the same division and finishing mid table. We are very mediocre, uninspiring and people are bored of it. The Championship is probably the most boring division. The teams that come down are invariably the ones that go up. It requires a lot of investment and luck to break into the top 6. Which leaves most teams hovering around mid table for years. |

I think this is the reality. Things used to go on all of the time and no one knew. The parks near me has people sniffing glue in the bushes. We would be out playing in the park and just avoided them. These days you can't drop a dog turd without it causing outrage on Facebook. The local kids just look at someone funny and there are online protests. |

6 Under 16 teams? What has happened to kids these days? It sounds like it will die off completely within a few years. It's not like they are replacing it with under age drinking as they don't even do that now. |

I think that there is still a decent amount of organised kids football going on. There is usually a big turn out at pitches for Saturday kids games. But, you hardly ever see kids having their own games in parks and on pitches now. When I was a kid we would be out with a ball for hours most days. We would walk miles to meet up and play. That never seems to happen anymore. The seniors games have almost gone as well. Most teams used to have a 2nd and 3rd team. Most struggle to put out 1 side now |

He had been having issues at Southampton before we signed him. Clearly he believes himself to be a world beater and gets the hump when other people don't see the same thing. Too long starring in Youth setups being hailed as a superstar without being grounded in reality |

If Sheehan is not going to be the manager next season, either through his own choice or the club wanting someone different, then the best option would be to bring their preferred choice in with some games left this season. Yes, it would be added expense, but it would give them a chance to look at what we have in a competitive environment. Players can look like workd beaters in training over the summer and be awful on match days. |

Yates is out of contract next summer. I doubt that he would want to come back here. The best thing to do would be to sell him at any price someone will pay over the summer. |

How can you say that Wilson is ready yo step up? 4 games and 2 assists (both in the same game) at Yeovil in the conference, suggests he will have a career but doesn't mean that he will be ready for the Championship by the summer. It's a big jump up to being a first team regular 3 divisions above. |

It appears, from another great site report, that the decision had mostly been made the week before and the hold up was due to a death in the family of a major stakeholder. Williams was axed the day before Montague started so out of his hands. But, I do agree with you that the connection between the two did not protect Williams. I was one who thought that it would, but, clearly you were right there |

Assistant manager to the Bob with the US. Bob has a very lengthy CV of clubs in the US and some in Europe. Still one if our worst managers ever. March avoided the drop on the last day of the season with Leeds. They started that day bottom. Was then fired for not being too impressive the next season. Marsch has a very gpod win ratio, but most of that is from his time in Austria. |
