Since I've moved back to London I've tried to walk it more often than not. That used to be a full stretch along the Regent's Canal from Camden Town tube to Old Oak (via the new monkey cage at London Zoo and Little Venice in the Paddington basin), then down across the Scrubs and the Westway. Now it's across Wandsworth Common up to the river near Clapham, then along the river to the Putney tube bridge, through Bishop's Park and along the Thames up to the Dove, then through Ravenscourt Park. About 2 hours 15 mins so if I leave here at 7.15 I'm in the Bush with breakfast in front of me just after 930. Great way to start the weekend, weather allowing. |

Still, the chicken children on Twitter will be happy to hear no more Field this season. I look forward to the sunlit uplands and victories that await. |

Must be a bad bug - we’ve played 7 times since Hull and he’s done 17 minutes against Derby. |

When Cifuentes loses faith with you he really loses faith with you. As Simmo says though, unless we think a European diet will give us our money back this summer we can’t just give up on him with that deal. |

Exactly the same happens in rugby league as well. A whole load of new rules and "interpretations", first three rounds of the season a farce, and then we revert. |

I think a few things can be true at once in this case. 1 - The latest accounts show, again, we desperately need big sales. We need to develop players for sale. If you've got a loan player starting who you can never hope to buy that's one less place in the team to do that with. So, ideally, you wouldn't do it, and actually in Edwards' case it's even worse because you're developing a superb young player for a team we're going to be playing against in six months' time. 2 - Not everybody in your team can be a development prospect. Experience, game smarts, voice on the pitch is something we've talked about lacking for a long time. You're no more getting any money for Steve Cook or Jack Colback than you are Yang or Edwards. It's about a mix and a blend. 3 - With our budget, we're always going to need some loans to keep the team at a standard required for the division. If we could get a few big sales then we could stop that, so I guess in that respect it's a bit of a vicious circle. 4 - We're in a fairly awkward situation at the moment where the majority of the first team, including the entire back four, is out of contract in the summer. So it's not really practical to be picking a team entirely focused on next season. 5 - While JCS is injured, Ronnie Edwards is the only defender we've got who can perform a role on the left side of the defence which is critical to how the team plays. I want to see Morrison back in ASAP, personally. In the final few games it would be fun to see a few Emmerson Sutton types. I'm usually absolutely firm on no loans, play your own, development model etc. But it's not a black and white situation this with the way the contracts and team is atm. |

And we're not technically safe yet. We all know what QPR are like. We're more likely than not to lose the next three games for the same reason we lost on Saturday. Suddenly you're going to Stoke away and the bedwetters switchboard will be fielding calls. |

You need a big sale/Eze sell on really. There's still progress to be had - Blackburn are in the bloody play offs as it stands - but I think really I look at Coventry and Brentford before them who were able to scout and recruit Gyokeres/Hamer types, sell, reinvest in more players like them, and that's how you get moving beyond this middle group and into contention. Bristol City closer to the 6 than they've been for a while despite selling best player last year - because that £20m enables you to buy better players, better squad depth, better attackers. |

Don't throw bottles at the linesman then, pretty simple. He was terrible, the referee got played by Choudhury and was out of his depth, but for this specific incident that's on us. |

I would suggest given their profiles it's Cook keeping Morrison out, which makes this a valid argument. Edwards is in the team because he can step out of the left side of the defence, beat the first press and pass the ball forwards to a team mate. The only other one who does that is JCS and he's injured. Morrison is the Cook replacement, so as the season winds down it's a very valid discussion about which one of those should be playing. I think given we brought Fox on from the bench yesterday it's pretty clear Morrison isn't fit anyway atm. (I wouldn't be picking Yang either btw, I didn't understand the signing when we made it) |

As I've just put on another thread, if you pick a team of fit and available players who are contracted to us next season it currently looks something like... Nardi Manufor Morrison Lehy Friel/Esquerdinha Varane Morgan Smyth Madsen Chair Lloyd |

Team of players currently available and definitely here next season currently looks something like... Nardi Manufor Morrison Lehy Friel/Esquerdinha Varane Morgan Smyth Madsen Chair Lloyd Pick that if you want, but you better hope 44 points is enough to keep you up because that loses the last 11 games straight. |

Look forward to that for the first fortnight of next season before they give up on it. I’m old enough to remember the first two weeks of last season when we agreed we’d adequately add stoppage time on for all the bullsht. |
 | Forum Reply | Sheffield United Reflection at 15:30 2 Mar 2025
If you don’t start the loanees or the out of contract players your back four is currently Liam Morrison standing there with his dick in his hand. I’m usually the biggest advocate, but it’s not very practical atm. |

Not the issue I know, but what the fck are Millwall doing picking their second choice keeper for their biggest game of the season anyway? Their first choice is brilliant. Fcking mad. If that tossr really needs some games pick him in one of the 12 dead rubbers you’ve got left while sitting 12th in the league. I’d be fuming if we’d done that. |
