Sad news coming out of the club that our Director Paul Hazlehurst passed away yesterday after a recent illness. Thoughts and prayers with his wife, and three sons at this time. Rest in Peace, Paul x |

It's two years ago, today, that the club lost arguably the biggest hero in our clubs history. I said it at the time of his death - the club surely must do something to honour his memory? I'd love to see a stand named after him, but appreciate the loss of sponsorship revenue etx. Surely though, something? Anyway, Rest In Peace Reg. |

Obviously today's news is very sad indeed and all our thoughts are with the Jenkins family. I personally feel it would be a fitting tribute to the Dale Legend to have a stand at Spotland named in his honour. He is one of our greatest heroes! Now I know the club would maybe feel they're losing out on potential revenue - but I'd happily help to contribute, and I'm sure if all fans would, we wouldn't be too far off? Maybe even a trust thing? A true Dale legend, he needs remembering! Up the Dale! Edit: Just seen others mentioning it on RIP thread! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Through work, traffic jams etc, today was the first time I've seen Dale this season. I thought we did alright in the main, and with time will come confidence which will see us gel better. One player I thought was superb, was dele adebola. When we signed him I was very sceptical, but today he proved me wrong. His arial ability, hold up play, connection with Grimes, and skill with ball at feet was excellent. Ok, he's no spring chicken and isn't the quickest, but what he lacks in pace, he makes up for elsewhere! My MOM today! |

Paul Walker tweeting that Barnsley have received two bids for Done, with the second being described as 'substantial!' Both have been declined but you'd suspect further dealings in this one! Sell on clause anyone? |

Been stuck in traffic on the M67 for nearly 2 hours, and that's before we even hit Glossop! Saw some Dale fans in the queue too, and they won't make it! So we're heading back, no chance of making it! Give them a shout for us! Up the Dale! |

I think tonight has made the mountain too high to climb... As poor as Eyre was, I think ultimately what cost us will be the 6 games that Beech was in charge, due to the delays at board level. Up the Dale! |
| Forum Thread | My Match Report: QPR away at 23:06 23 Aug 2011
We arrived at Loftus Rd around half an hour before kick off and on first impressions it looked a half decent facility. After picking the tickets up we went into the away end and sampled the local lager priced at £3:80 a pint. Quite frankly, it tasted like p**s! We found our seat behind the goal with a good away following for a Tuesday night in London. I'd guestimate at around 200 (I know 160 has been posted but I think there were more than that!) Looking round, Loftus Road was empty, with only the main stand to our left really being occupied. It might as well have been empty with the lack of noise they had made throughout the game. The game started and in the opening forays we never really looked troubled. We looked assured in our passing and comfortable. We went ahead when Grimes received the ball down the left, turned and shot accross the keeper, only for him to parry to JLAA. He still had a little work left to do to beat the defender to the ball but always looked like winning it. For the remainder of the first half, we again never really looked troubled. We had a couple of chances, one falling to Adams, but his shot was weak, and so did they! I only remember Lucas saving smartly at his near post once, although their reports claim we had cleared one shot off the line. Half time came and went with plenty of smiles shared in the away end. We all agreed that Dale had deserved their lead. In the second half they came out the stronger and put us under some sustained pressure. That sort of pressure though, that we never really looked like conceding. Tarabt and Bothroyd looked disinterested and Dale defended solidly. The latter had the ball in the net after an hour, but he was correctly ruled offside. Dale got deeper and deeper as the half wore on, but always looked solid. That Belkenstein lad looks some player! Lucas was marshalling them well, and Darby and widdowson were both playing superb roles! Holness too was solid. Then, on 81 mins, it happened! As QPR threw men forward, Dale broke with Grimes winning a bouncing ball, he squared it to Jones who burst through, but looked to have taken it slightly wide. He then preceded to deftly chip Murphy (paddy McCourt esque) into the far side of the net. The dale fans went ballistic! The game then petered out with cries of "were all going on a European tour!" I won't go through all the players because they were all superb, but special mentions have to go to Pim Belkenstein and Jason Kennedy who looked like men possessed tonight! It's making this car journey home bearable! 4,766 saw it, QPR 0 Dale 2. |
| Forum Thread | Paul Benson at 10:08 21 Jul 2011
Skysports are "understanding" that Notts County have agreed a fee of £150,000 with Charlton for Paul Benson's services. I am alone in thinking this is a good bit of business? Went for more than that 18 months ago, knows where the net is, and looked clinical last year at Spotland when he came on. If, and only the dreaded if, COG went (even though Richard Partington has tweeted there's been interest but no bid) what would people think of Benson as a replacement? Up the Dale |

Some more fantastic news for the Dale. This player is highly regarded by my Liverpool supporting friends! |
| Forum Thread | So here's my idea.... at 17:50 26 Apr 2011
After an absolutely terrific season, one of the best in the clubs history, our usual 'car full' were discussing how best to show the players we appreciate all their efforts this season. Obviously we'll have our usual lap of honour in which we can; but this topic has been discussed til death in our journeys. So we came up with this idea: In the last home game against Peterborough, when the fourth official indicates the usual allotted time of 2/3 minutes, if we got the whole stadium to stand and applaud the players, it would sound absolutely immense. When we do minutes applause it sounds great, and I really think the players would feel the appreciation if the whole stadium do it? So, what do you guys think? Obviously it would be poor if only a few people did it, but if we get everyone in, it would be amazing! Just want to show appreciation to the guys for an amazing season! Up the Dale! |
