| Forum Thread | Summer recruitment… at 18:39 19 Oct 2024
Must be the worst on record. They are all pretty much powder puff. Alarm bells in the summer when none of them have played at this level. Literally don’t knew where we go from here. These ‘data’ players have been nothing short of abysmal. We literally have no proper centre mids. Squad is just awash with luxury players. So many of our players hide in games. It’s unacceptable. |
| Forum Thread | When are JCS and Colback back? at 12:29 3 Oct 2024
Our midfield was powder puff the other night. We desperately need Colback back. Really missing Hayden. |
| Forum Thread | Dykes’s injury? at 10:56 1 Jun 2024
I really hope his injury isn’t too bad and he makes the Euro squad for Scotland. But those pictures didn’t look good. I don’t rate the guy and for me he’s one of the biggest reasons why we have struggled so much in the last 2 years. He just doesn’t have the natural instinct of a striker. Anyway as he’s been injured on international duty will the SFA cover his wages whilst he’s out or because he’s in the initial squad for the Euros is it covered by UEFA and their insurance scheme? |
| Forum Thread | Conceding first at home…again! at 07:57 7 Apr 2024
Looking at our record at home this season which has been abysmal we seem to concede first nearly every time. Looking at bottom half of the Championship we have conceded first against: 1. Sunderland 2. Swansea 3. Watford 4. Blackburn 5. Huddersfield 6. Birmingham 7. Sheff Wed 8. Rotherham We start games at home so slowly. It’s like pedestrian like. The game only game I can think of where played on the front foot was against Stoke and we scored early on. Other than that we are so slow passing it sideways. Our top scorer is Chair on 5 goals. Next is our left back with 4 goals. Armstrong simply cannot start games. He cannot lead a line. He is an impact sub. The likes of Willock and Chair I think their best days are sadly behind them. Dykes is not good enough at this level. And from what I have seen of Frey he is not the answer either. I hope we stay up but my word next season we are going to need 4 or 5 quality players in the attacking area of the pitch. Our home form has to improve. We as fans are doing our bit. |
| Forum Thread | Richards…vanishing act again? at 19:43 1 Jan 2024
Has been on the bench the odd game recently. Supposedly one of our highest players on a 4 year contract. We are down to the bare bones today and no where near the squad today. Where on earth is this guy? Literally stealing a living from us. It is utterly disgraceful. |
| Forum Thread | Our corners? at 21:34 26 Dec 2023
Genuine question. When did we last score from one? We had the farce of another short corner today where we were offside immediately. And like about 500 corners this season everyone today was either waist height or didn’t beat the near post. Our corners have been so poor for the last 2 or 3 years now. Makes me think we might as well just let the opposition keeper take a goal kick. |
| Forum Thread | Cook, Willock, Colback, Fox… at 19:45 26 Dec 2023
Any idea when they’re back? I cannot spend another afternoon watching Kakay and Dozzell. |
| Forum Thread | Our midfield… at 19:14 26 Dec 2023
is absolutely powder puff. They’re all so similar. Field, Dozzell, Colback and now Paal. All left footed. None of them drive forward with the ball. None of them play a forward pass. They don’t dominate a midfield and literally only pass it backwards or square. We are crying out for a number 8. The midfield is a big reason why we are so shite. |
| Forum Thread | Any acknowledgment from any of our hopeless players towards Ainsworth? at 08:49 29 Oct 2023
I’m not on Twitter etc. They’re forever posting all random bits. Would be good if the likes of Dunne, Dozzell, Colback etc. who have all let Ainsworth and the club down in recent weeks will at least publicly acknowledge some thanks towards Ainsworth. I do think our players are just mentally weak and really couldn’t care about the club or the future. When you see players smiling with the opposition players straight after another defeat is galling. You can imagine what the likes of Alex Ferguson would have dealt with them back in the changing room. |
| Forum Thread | Director of Football? at 10:28 22 Oct 2023
It’s almost certain that Ainsworth is getting the sack imminently. We all know we will lose at West Brom and at home to Leicester. We are a team that can’t score or keep clean sheets. I have to watch the likes of Kakay and Adomah start games. I just don’t trust the board to make the right appointment for the next manager. How can the job of Director of Football take so long to appoint? It’s taken months. The process seems more complicated than electing a Pope! No updates or anything from the club. Total utter silence. |
| Forum Thread | Ainsworth’s signings…. at 21:05 7 Oct 2023
So last year we struggled with scoring and keeping clean sheets. So this summer we have signed… 1. Begovic (defensive signing) 2. Larkeche (ditto) 3. Cook (ditto) 4. Colback (ditto) 5. Cannon (ditto) 6. Fox (ditto) 7. Richards (does the bloke exist? This joke of a club have given him a 4 year contract) 8. Smyth (attacking player, but been playing as RWB) So essentially we have gone into the season with the same attacking team as last year where we were utter shite. And now the malaise continues. How could the jokers at the club / recruitment not see attacking players is where we were lacking so much? None of our midfielders are ball carriers. They get the ball and pass it square. Our defenders get the ball and just go long hoping Armstrong runs on to something. It is percentage football and so predictable. Any manager knows how to defend against us. We are like a non league team with how we set up. Ainsworth is out of his depth. Time to go. But seriously looking at the board no one has any football experience. And we are trusting them to make the right decision. We have waited 4 months for a DoF and still we hear nothing. We will make an appointment who we will sack in a few months and then the circus will begin again. We are a sinking ship. Desperately sad. |
| Forum Thread | Who was with Lee Hoos today? at 21:06 2 Sep 2023
I watched the game online today and I noticed at the end as the Riverside had cleared that Lee Hoos was clapping the players and Ainsworth. He was there with about 4 or 5 others including Andy Evans who we all know. It wasn’t Reuben or Amit etc. Anyone else notice this? |
| Forum Thread | Taylor-Richards? at 07:52 17 Aug 2023
Watched him closely last night. You can see why managers haven’t fancied him. At fault for the goal but constantly dispossessed. Slow in tracking back. Doesn’t work hard enough. How on earth is he on a 3 year contract plus we must have paid something like 400k for him. Very disappointed because if Chair or any of the attacking players leave he will have to step up. |
| Forum Thread | End of the game at Watford… at 18:32 30 Jul 2023
I have got a bad feeling it’s going to be a dreadful performance at Watford on Saturday and the players / Ainsworth are going to get all sorts of grief at the end when Ainsworth forces the players to go and clap the sold out away support. I think the relationship between the fans and players is going to be very poisonous this season. I honestly cannot remember a season like this this where pretty much every Rangers fan I know bar 2 or 3 has resigned themselves to relegation. I’ll be amazed if we get more than 30 points. I’m trying to think of the last time the players were booed after the first game of the season. One year we got stuffed at home by Bolton / Swansea if memory serves me right but the players were never booed. I think Saturday is going to be toxic especially if we are 2 or 3 down in the first half. |
| Forum Thread | Where’s the video pre match interview with Ainsworth for today’s game? at 08:20 22 Apr 2023
Would have been good to hear his thoughts about these rumours regarding Willock, Laird and Johansen. Not too bothered to hear about how ‘proud’ he is of the ‘boys’ and how it’s all on ‘Ainsworth’ if we lose today. Would have been good to hear his thoughts on tactics. What’s the latest on Armstrong and various other players who are still injured. |
| Forum Thread | League 1 financial rules? at 07:44 16 Apr 2023
I know it was mentioned somewhere before. I can’t find the link. In short what are we allowed to do next season? Can the owners clear the debt and put more money into the squad? From the current playing squad if they all go in the summer I won’t miss any of them. Obviously we will be stuck with some of them who still have a contract. |
| Forum Thread | Ainsworth - the coach at 05:49 16 Apr 2023
He had the right attitude as a player. Always gave his all. Clearly did a fantastic job at Wycombe in his decade there. He would have been considered for many Championship jobs but in that decade no one came in for him. That’s pretty telling. I don’t know who else made the shortlist for our job but it must have been very bad if Ainsworth got the job. I know his hands have been tied on various aspects but my word his tactics and in game management is from a pre-historic era. We get over run in midfield virtually every game but we persist continually with a 2 man midfield. We play with 2 lumps up front. The team is static. No one shows for the football. We are opened up so easily. We play centre backs at right back. I could go on. This bloke is well out of his depth. I feel for him. I’ve met him many times and he’s a good guy. But my word his coaching / tactical ability is appalling. We can’t change it now. The board have a tough decision to make in the summer. So much has to change this summer in various aspects of the club. I am not confident he’s the right person if the inevitable happens and we drop to League 1. Who knows where the slide will go for our club? Absolutely grim times for our club. We have managed 4 points in the whole of 2023. So dejected with QPR these days. League 1 won’t be easy at all. |
