QPR Vs Sunderland pre match chat
at 04:03 1 Nov 2024

I think there are a few on here who view the relative lack of success of our data-driven signings as vindication for the argument that data just doesn't work.i.e.how can it be that we've signed players like Celar and Madsen who apparently don't fit the 'game model'. But I'm increasingly convinced that it's simply the case that our data just isn't very good.

On history podcasts, have you checked out Dan Carlin 'Hardcore Histories'? I was really into them at one point. They are *long*, serious commitments. After I finished his series on genghis khan it was pretty much all I could think or talk about. I could probably have done it as my specialist topic on Master Mind

Outrageous treatment by the club. First he's dropped with no explanation, then he's banished from the team photo. Now he's been ordered to drag Chair around on a sleigh like some sort of massive husky.

QPR's 'Fan Engagement Plan'
at 08:28 31 Oct 2024

The thing with Nourry is that right from the off it was a dubious appointment, given his lack of experience and odd circumstances of being the guy auditing the club. Add to that the impression that Hoos was looking for the exit, it's hardly surprising that people have questions over his suitability to have this wide ranging role. Then if you add to that his corp-talk gibberish and his approach to supporter engagement, he was always going to be treated with suspicion, and with justification.

Edit, to add: I've always been for a DoF at Rangers, but to work I think it needs to be someone who commands respect, or is at least likeable and easy to work with. I'm obviously speculating here, but from everything we know about Nourry i find it very easy to imagine that Martì dislikes answering and being dictated to by him, which worries me. Again, I know that's largely speculation

Wireless Earphones Help, Please

I'm a bit of an audiophile, own quite a few over ear headphones that I spent a bit on. But for the gym I use in ear JBL Tune Beams, fairly affordable, sound decent, and reasonable noise cancellation

I loved the idea of Late Night With The Devil, and enjoyed the set up, but found it a bit disappointing in the end. I reckon there's a much better version that could have been made

The Borderlands has one of the most bonkers endings I've ever seen

Good shout on Train to Busan, excellent film. The Korean film industry is really strong. On the horror side of things , Tale Of Two Sisters is pretty harrowing, and The Wailing is good.

Where will QPR be on 29 Oct. 2028
at 09:39 29 Oct 2024

Owner / CEO / Manager / Kit Man. Bob Smith, former accountant. Led the administration process of 2027 before deciding he'd have a go.

Division - League 2. We got relegated so hard we bypassed League 1 altogether

Players - To maintain a competitive edge we are no longer allowed to know who we have signed or sold. Players play in V for Vendetta masks.

Ground - We dug down

Three points. Beat Sunderland because that's just the kind of wacky thing we do, we get hyped and declare the panic over, then get absolutely mullered by Boro and Lids

Ah that's a shame about Gen Z, not watched it yet.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I'll always check Wheatley's stuff out, and the same with Mike Flanagan, it's not *always* amazing but usually interesting at least.

The 90s made for TV version of Stephen King's It left me traumatised as a kid, and made its way into my profile pic on here. Tim Curry nailed Pennywise the clown. Much better than the big budget versions of the past decade.

I'm a heavy consumer of podcasts in the gym and the car.

Used to listen to a lot of politics ones but I'll leave those!

All The Right Movies, entertaining group of Geordie lads doing deep dives on classic films

Recently got into Very Bad Wizards, on psychology and philosophy, if that's your jam.

The Drive is Peter Attia's podcast on health and longevity, fairly detailed deep dive on topics related to health and nutrition
