| Forum Reply | How Did We Manage To Not Get A Striker? at 12:02 2 Sep 2022
We need to protect our assets, so if its a choice I'm much happier giving better deals to willock/chair to either keep them or maintain sell on than give to a second rate striker. Squad looks decent and Beale factor could be massive. |

Woodburn to Sheffield Utd on loan ( not confirmed ). I like what I’ve seen of him and thought he may get game time for liverpool this year. they’ve made some decent acquisitions. Guess we’ll find out quickly how good they are. Potential dark horses for promotion? |

Firstly, I Haven't been this season so not sure if my opinion counts, however I would say that the last thing a QPR fan can be classed as is a glory hunter so any fan must be genuine. Watching from afar we are probably where we should be in the league and once again a shocking effort in the cup even when we do put out an almost full strength team. That said IH does seem to struggle to find the right formation and team set up to get the most out of the players and a its a bit hit and hope on team selection but what are the alternatives right now? The hope is we can gain enough points to stay up and personally I would expect the hierarchy at the club to be scouting for an up and coming manager to take us on in the Summer. concern is as a club they are a bit like IH and reactionary instead of having a clear plan of action. I would add though it isn't right to want your team to lose, what's the point in that?? |

I believe the lack of expectation is a good thing and the situation at the club may prove to be a positive. The issue for me is IH and how we play. We have to set up solid and look to draw teams on and counter. Our best forward players are pavel/freeman and hopefully yeni so let's be solid and give them a platform to create. We are not going to score many so crowd and team must be patient and stay in games as long as possible. Let's give them a chance before writing them off. 1 nil Saturday for me with manning from long range. You r's!! |

We have to give last seasons signings a real chance. If opportunities come up to sign someone who will improve the 1st 11 then fine, but what we have need to be coached into a solid counter attacking force. We showed in spells we have some assets so it's a must to develop them. IH needs to have a clear plan and stick to it regardless of results. This is my biggest concern as he lost the plot at the end of last season. Watch the vids from the unbeaten run and take the positives. We are not great but I feel the low expectations might help and some reasonable results and signs of promise in the opening games could lead to a decent season and the likes of yeni could Flourish. Big ask but you never know! |

Went yesterday for the 1st time in a while. 1st half was poor but we tried to pass it about and I can see what he is trying to achieve. One move we went from right to left, back again and opened them up only for polter to let the ball through his legs instead of in the back of the net. Goals change games and scoring in the 1st half would have drawn Blackburn out and given us more space. Easy to criticise as the performance 1st half was below average but to what end. I believe the team will gel if given the chance and we will probably have better performances against the bigger sides and lose 3-2 but more entertaining so some will be happy. When we have to dictate the play without luongo it will not be as pretty and that's when chery must get more involved and make himself available as Henry, cousins were looking for options. For me, shodipo looks a talent and great to see, almost in the sterling mould. Was concerned about Washington but thought he looked decent and deserves a start against Newcastle. Others to come in so not concerned. Keep the faith people, it will get better if you let it and JFH is being cautious to bed these players in. |

Majority of their fans won't care if they make it or not or even know they existed at the club. Must be proud though to spend 24m on alonso, great bit of business that. Surely they have a left back capable in their ranks especially having spunked out on Rahman last season (who is now on loan surprise surprise). We were an embarrassment in the transfer market but glad to see we have changed that, can't see Chelski doing the same. |

This is the QPR message board right? Thought I'd logged in to Chelsea or Man U for a minute. Assuming some of these posts are not tongue in cheek, some what amazed to see what I'm reading. I get this is a forum to voice any opinion but surely overall we've started the season well and there are enough positives to think we can build a reasonable side and have some enjoyment this season. There are too many stronger sides in this league for us to expect to finish top 6 and we need a lot of the aspects Leicester had if we are to do so but 1 extremely poor performance surely doesn't lead to posts saying the manage has 15 games etc. The team is young, trying to develop a new system so you will get bad days. It's how we react to those and support the team that matters. We are all disappointed but we are 6th and still in the cup and the team is not yet the finished article. |

The price comes down to whether we need to sell. If we don't then we can demand 10m+ but I feel we probably do so we may have to accept around 6-8m. Hope he stays as he is potentially by far the best CB in the league and I hope if he does stay his form does not dip after the window shuts. If he stays then puts us in a strong position as the defence looks very sound and he brings a confidence and controlling influence that gives our midfield the chance to press high knowing we have a solid base to build from. Could be massive for us. Hope he stays. |

played well. It's only when he is trying to be the playmaker his game gets exposed. Can play a big part but has to have ability around him. Keep keeping it simple Karl. |

Mickey Quinn was bigging us up as the dark horses yesterday. Not sure where his insight comes from but nice to get a mention. Need our new signings to be the stars of the team otherwise it's mid table for me. Would be great if this lad tears it up, the clips look promising but they will only ever show the good stuff but he is big, powerful and pacy so excellent attributes for this league. Let the games begin. |

Pleased they got this done, not that I know anything about him but more to the fact he has been the long term target so presume they have scouted thoroughly. The wolves thing was probably agent nonsense to see if they could get a few more quiz out of us. Remember when we were the ones linked to any player wanting a move and its where we have Become disliked. Another positive move |

To have any hope of challenging too 6 we will need majority of our signings to come off and that's a big ask. A good season is 10th with those signings growing with the team and maybe 2/3 showing real quality. Promising but still all a bit unknown right now. |
| Forum Reply | Prtitchard and Bodvarsson at 16:12 2 Aug 2016
the fact is sandro's etc have cost us the chance to compete with the more stabilised clubs in this division. Pritchard is not worth 8m but right now I'm sure we would have preferred to spend that on him rather than 6m on Sandro. Lessons learned. Like the majority on here, pleased we are walking away from these deals and we will hopefully find adequate alternatives. As we have shown, you cannot guarantee anything with transfers but I have complete faith in those making the decisions now. |

Depends who plays around him. If his job is just to win the ball and give it to another then he is useful and the experience would be vital if we Bring in a younger player with legs to play alongside. Depends on wages but we can't have 2 kids in there. Surely if doughty was going to be an option then he would be playing by now. We also need to take the strain from faurlin. Top marks to him to have played as many games as he has. Crucial area for recruitment in the summer. |

Totally agree but then every transfer is a risk and I guess if your outlay is minimal then the risk is less. Based on hoos comments we must be well aware of the players knocking about the academies that would be decent options. Not all will work, but I'd rather unknown potential than being let down by so called proven talent at a cost. We still need experience to nurture young talent but like I said I trust this set up to get it right more than wrong so I see interesting times ahead. Important aspect is that we can't just say well burnley did it this way or Southampton did it that and expect it to work but as long as you are not leaving yourself financially exposed and we have a structure in place then you would think you have a chance. Mentality of JFH is one that makes me believe he expects full commitment from his team and I only expect him to work with players of such ilk. |
| Forum Reply | Players for next season at 19:46 11 Apr 2016
Read an article by hoos suggesting we look at players not making the grade at elite clubs ala what burnley have done and it's a fair shout. They have huge squads and we should target players who have had decent coaching who now want to make the grade. For example clayton at boro looks a real class act and was picked up cheap from city so there will be others of such quality. Otherwise it's lower league as there are so many better options than us and we are no longer a good pay day. Scout for specific roles not just because a player is available and no need to get desperate and pay over the odds. There's plenty of talent out there and I trust JFH to get it right. As long as we keep on improving with decent additions then we should continue to think long term and give him time as going to be tougher championship next year. |
| Forum Reply | Players for next season at 11:54 11 Apr 2016
Some very good realistic shouts on here. However unless Walters is out of contract and willing to take a pay cut then it won't happen. Not too many experienced pros have worked out for us recently. Derry/hill but that was under warnock and chemistry was perfect. |
| Forum Reply | Vardy at 10:28 3 Feb 2016
Fair play to Simpson. When he left he felt bombed out but turns out best thing to happen to him. Absolute joke to let him go. Solid defence and decent enough going forward but we now have perch. Like you say, thanks Harry. |
