There was of course massive rebuilding after WW2, but one million houses were not built in the first twelve months after Clement Attlee's entry into office. Step forward John Maynard Keynes (Liberal), and the American Taxpayer, who between them drew up and paid for the building programme of 1.1 million homes in the years 1945/51, about ten per cent were prefab huts with another ten per cent little better, in fact some just bolted together metal sheets bound for battle ships left over when hostilities ceased. In '51, Churchill was re-elected and in the next decade the Conservative's managed to deliver 300,000 new houses every year. Now I find it strange that people would argue over who, what, why and where, because my personal view is that this rebuilding was another wonderful example of the British war effort, blown to pieces yet back on its feet and at the forefront of industry, fashion, music etc within twenty years.
Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, The Mongols, Spanish Inquisition et al - really couldn't care less about the terminology, political or otherwise, wolves are notorious for wearing sheep's clothing. |

Eldest - the Young Master Boston, now 35, at 13.
Middle - the eldest girl, 32, when 12.
Youngest - girl, 26, was 8 yrs old.
Not smart phones though. |
