Arguably, no vote means no say. I knew a bloke that had a knack for finding something wrong, then getting on his high horse about something needing to be done. Until his wife would ask him what was HE going to do about it. No answer, and she told him to stick his indignation back up where it came from. |

Our employers will charge more for the goods and services they supply. For a big proportion, that is 1% to 1.5% increase in wage costs (more if mostly low paid workers like retail). Business growth will have to come from small to medium sized companies, large companies have steadily declined over the past decades. Small companies being hit with higher costs, more generous worker rights and knowing that they will get hit with massive CGT iof they are successful and get bought out by bigger fish, they are not likely to take big risks and maximise growth. It will be Corporation Tax at the next budget. This government have played entirely to the voting electorate in the short term. When ever did government intervention in the capital investment cycle prove to be a success? This lot just don’t have a clue any more than the lazy, corrupt and self serving mob who were in before. |

Everton have scored 150% goals and conceded 85% compared to us. Unless they have one of their “moments”, I don’t anticipate celebrating at 5 o’clock. |

Enjoy your break. Your predictions are pretty much the same as mine. If you want to enjoy your time, just check the results after the game, far less angst. |
| Forum Reply | My take on yesterday's game at 09:04 28 Oct 2024
WE were largely ineffectual, and Man City wasted a hatful of opportunities, as you say, without breaking sweat. Haaland should have had 3, let alone the others. I am finding this season a cross between excruciatingly boring and excruciatingly painful. I thought last season was bad enough from a footballing perspective, but this approach is more than sad. To succeed with the current style, we need to be well drilled and be able to concentrate for the 100 mins or so a match lasts these days. We are woefully short on both of these qualities. RM is a rich man whether he succeeds or not, so too it appears are the executives making the calls on how the club is run and develops. |

No dent to his pride. I predict that at the end of the season we’ll hear that the squad couldn’t learn quickly enough. SR certainly like the snake oil he is selling. |

Fulham (and Crystal Palace) are an easy option for good players at top London clubs to move on without a major disruption to their lives, so they get a higher standard of players truly available to them. But you are right about Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth. I think Bournemouth are very much in the drop down and bounce back group, which is where I suspect Sports Republic are happy for us to be, and if we hang on in the PL for a couple of years, then that is a bonus. |
| Forum Reply | How do we play 10 mins extra time at 20:41 20 Oct 2024
It is a minimum of 7 mins. There are loads of examples where extra minutes are added by the ref. If he believes there has been time wasting, even if he doesn’t warn people, he may not agree with the minimum added time by his own calculations. But who knows? |

We were already on the rack, and if Fraser had not given the pen, Vardy would most likely have scored. We just collapse once we concede a goal. And you don’t need to “be brave” to pass the ball around effectively. The man is a fraud. |
| Forum Reply | Wolves today. And so it goes on. First it was Man Utd now it’s City. at 18:04 20 Oct 2024
He did not interfere with the goalkeeper, he was moving away as the shot was made, and he was not unsighting the keeper. There are plenty of precedents to that already this season. I thought the offside decision was harsh and wrong. VAR showed that to be the case. |
| Forum Thread | Same mistake, over and over at 08:26 20 Oct 2024
Yet again, nobody between the pen spot and edge of the area at a corner. This is a shocking occurrence that has been repeated in several games, and been punished by conceding a goals. Why don’t we do this? It is basics. Am I just out of date or something? |

I was amazed when I heard that we were 2-0 up. But as i predicted a couple of days ago, Leicester have got some fight in them, and sadly, we do not. Surely time for a new manager now? His approach, tactics and substitutions are weak. |
| Forum Reply | How Will Russell Martin Be Seen By Saints Fans After Today at 11:25 19 Oct 2024
“We must remain true to our character.” What that actually means, is we must remain true to the style of play I believe in. Unless he means that defensive mistakes (that we never learn from) are part of the deal. Or maybe having less shots and shots on target with 60% possession, whilst our competitors exceed our efforts with half the possession. At least he is not saying’”It’ll be OK, we’ll come good.” Or is he? What exactly are his goals for this club? |

“ there really are a fair few that seem to have a love in with this boring, turgid brand of football. I personally would rather see us lose by a hatful of goals but at least try to take on the opposition…..” Absolutely this. |
