Bobby Madley's version of why he was dismissed at the link below. If true, it's a shameful indictment of a world run by automatons where one mistake can ruin a career and no one gets a second chance:
The boy who scored at Old Trafford and had school the next day. @stujames75 hops on the 111 bus in Fallowfield - and who hasn’t been on that bus at some time? - to spend a day in class with Luke Matheson. Great stuff https://t.co/ri5qmyUO1S
Can we invest in some flags and banners to put across the seats like what Accy had? They could have pictures of iconic moments and players from the past. Far more motivational for players and fans than blocks of empty seats.
VAR Man United have just scored a penalty. When Rashford takes it, a United player is clearly in the D and therefore not 10 yards from the ball. I VARed it myself using the remote and the pause button. 1. Why have our VAR overlords not ordered the penalty to be retaken?
This new subs idea. 2. Why do subs warming up have to wear bibs but a subbed player can walk halfway round the pitch bibless?
When Oldham beat Fulham in the FA Cup, their fans were singing "Dale are falling apart again" and to be honest, I thought they had a point.
Roll on a few months and here we are, still a division above them, as the news breaks tonight that Pete Wild has resigned and a number of first-team regulars are leaving.
1. Chorley beat Stockport 2-0 in yesterday's top of the table clash to go two points clear. 2. Bradford (Park Avenue) must be the only team with punctuation in their name AND.... 3. If they get through the play-offs, they would only be one division away from Bradford (City). 4. Looks like relegation to the Northern Prem for FCUM. 5. Plenty of former league teams in the table below:
Named after Nicky Spooner who used to mix up the first letters of words.
Randy Odes - he left Latics to focus on erotic poetry Low Jolly - he scored but Forest lost Bony Tuck - he was never asked to share his chicken butties at Maine Road
Just been on their site ahead of tomorrow's game and found these anecdotes. Would any of the older generation care to explain themselves?
we got onto the front page of the national press after a game at rochdale early 70's lots of trouble mostly caused by the police. one mounted copper rode his horse into the luton fans on the terracing. one fan at the back of the crowd shouted out to a friend at the front so the police waded in and dragged him out, the next i saw him was at the train station and he had been well battered, he had done nothing, the cops caused all the trouble that day and we got the blame. NOTHING CHANGES DOES IT ********* That was a pretty terrifying day to be honest, the police lost control from the start. Thought it started with a kid being knocked down by a police car as they marched several special train loads up the hill - that's what we were told anyhow.
I also seem to recall that the Riot Act was read out on the pitch which meant they could ride horses into the crowd (coming from that muddy bank at the other end).
The Sun (not the rag it became then) had a large picture of the trouble, thought it was centre spread? I had to make sure my old man didn't see it as I was clearly visible - not too many people in that crowd with long hair and glasses!
There was still LTFC graffiti on the station until they completely refurbed it.
Video below for younger viewers. There's some quite clever stuff going on there, especially Grampian's effort. Granada is conspicuous by its absence due to it just being a picture of a G with an arrow pointing north. I'm torn between LWT and Thames with HTV West a close third, possibly because we used to be able to get a fuzzy version of it which came in handy for Batman.
