Sad news that former captain Ray Aspden has passed away. Played in the 1962 League Cup Final... It was an honour to have seen him grace the hallowed turf. RIP Ray... the memories will always live on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Aspden [Post edited 25 Aug 2021 9:48]

Find below a number of addresses that you may find useful and please, just jot down a few lines to these people to make them aware of the potential injustice on the cards here. If each one of us sends a letter then it may make them take notice. No one on this forum likes to mention bury and their demise, but if we ALL don't take a stance against these imposters to our game and our club then we we will be the bury of the future. and you were Chris Dunphy... what would you do now!! Great piece by Steve Eyre in't th'Ob today.... 'Lets fight someone else not ourselves'. How demoralising must it be to hear the negative chants by the mindless few! Dale are starting a goal behind with supporters like that... Wonder if the 'Eyre Out' kids were chanting that today? Okay, everyone has the right to an opinion, everyone pays an admission fee so can sing what they want but lets fight someone else! Or go and support someone else...... |
| Forum Thread | A fantastic era - thank you. Long live the king at 07:15 1 Jun 2011
Whatever the comments about his departure or the way in which it was conducted I can look back with very fond memories of the best years of my Dale supporting life. I was lucky enough to witness 69 et al but the Hillcroft era has surpassed that many times over. Like many, I am disappointed... but only because this era has come to an end. Thank you Keith, David and the team for some fantastic fantastic memories. It was truly remarkable what you achieved. The king is dead..... Long live the king |
