Its a tricky one. I saw Gornell 3 times for Shrews last season, and in 2 of the games, he was hopeless. Went "missing" at least as much as Grimes, if not more. Could we afford any more than a 6 month deal for Gornell, who will be on at least as much as Grimes?

I fully agree that Grimes has been largely disappointing during his time here. However, he has shown what a quality finisher he can be during this last month.Unfulfilled potential sums him up perfectly.

Like I say... tricky. No doubt, it will all come down to money.

Which three Shrewsbury games did you see last season?

I was at Walsall in late August/early September for a tennis match, and they bought us a meal near the ground. it was £5 to get in, and we decided to go. Gornell was playing, and caught my eye by for being offside constantly. Think he was subbed shortly after half time.

I also went to a Shrews vs Bradford game sometime around Xmas. I think we were away somewhere. Visited some friends and he took me to the game. Gornell was a sub, and did quite well. Looked strong that day.

The last one was a Sky game against Crawley. no idea when it was...possibly Friday or Monday evening? Gornell was hopeless (offside all game and looked disinterested) and was subbed at half time, resulting in a total change in the game with Shrews winning having been behind.

I'm not a closet Shrewsbury supporter or anything, but weren't we linked with him last season even before Coleman came here? I'm sure I looked out for him in the latter games because I'd heard about our interest in him..In the Walsall game; he just caught my eye for being pooh!!

Apparently Harry Redknapp is after Jonas Olssen at West Brom. Bid 5 million - if its accepted hopefully Dawson can start getting some games at last.

Thought Dawson was linked with a loan move to Bolton, with a possible transfer to follow (£3m was mentioned)

I read that Kallum Higginbotham has also returned on loan to Scotland, i.e. Motherwell, from Huddersfield.

Think injuries have halted any loan move for now - West Brom are struggling for numbers at the mo.

Anthony Charles - Northampton (ex-Aldershot) central defender been told to find another club in this window.

http://www.skysports.com/football/player/0,19754,14729_235737,00.html

At 31 years old , 6' 2", and played in league 2 for last 6-7 years so has the experience we need. Think he also ocassionally played left back for Aldershot. Probably within our limited budget, anyone think he would be a suitable short term signing to help our defensive woes?
