The club would like to provide supporters with an injury update as we head into the final 11 fixtures of the 2024/25 season.
All timelines are subject to the players continuing on their current rehabilitation paths.
Unfortunately, Sam Field sustained an ankle injury following a tackle in our fixture at Portsmouth on February 22nd.
The midfielder will now start a rehabilitation process with a projected return to full fitness in 6-9 weeks.
Rayan Kolli has been sidelined for the past fortnight but is on course to rejoin full training with the squad by the middle of March.
Žan Celar has been working hard to overcome the hamstring injury he sustained in our home fixture against Norwich in December. The striker is progressing well and is increasing his loading as he works towards rejoining team training.
Jake Clarke-Salter is continuing his early rehabilitation following surgery on a hip injury in January. The defender is making good early progress.
Harvey Vale is progressing through his early rehab work as part of his recovery from his lower back injury. Next month he is expected to start phase two of his rehab which will be focusing on his physical development in preparation to return to pitch-based rehab in April. |  |

In all seriousness, this might be the encouragement to give him a run of games regardless, especially once we're mathematically here next season. We can't just give up on him with the contract he's got...
In the meantime I hope we stick with Chair in the middle alongside Varane and Colback/Morgan - esp at home (except Leeds maybe). |  |

That Hull cameo really seemed to be the last straw for MC .

As Marti is/was a key part of the recruitment team that brought him here, hopefully he will have given himself food for thought as to who is likely to fit this league and who won't. In these cases, there's probably a bit of managerial ego involved in not being seen to give up on a player entirely, though that does seem to have happened, and it's a big waste of money, given hthe double whammy of his reported fee and (?4 year) contract. I've said consistently, for me he's a manger who's still very much on a learning curve with us.
Saito is oneplayer who he's helped to improve considerably, however, so he/they clearly get it right too, and the same is true of Smyth. (Jury is still out for me with Varane and Celar, while Frey blows hot and cold.) Recruitment has been a mixed bag, overall, but hopefully Marti is a fast learner. [Post edited 4 Mar 23:22]
