Potential threat from the weather to Saturday's match 12:05 - Nov 20 with 26630 views | MAK | 3 days away, but could there be a threat to the Oldham match on Saturday? It got to -4c last night and with 3 more sub zero nights to come, including Friday night, the grass will be getting a little solid. I addition to that a potent low pressure system swings in early on Saturday with the possibility of a couple of hours snow before it all turns very wet. A Met Office warning is out for that. Even if there's not much in the way of snow, a lot of rain falling onto frozen or semi frozen ground isn't going to drain away that fast. To add to that, there's increasing likelihood of snow overnight Thurs/Fri, and amounts will possibly be more than we had Mon/Tue. Anything that falls will hang around all Friday as the temps will just get above freezing. Fingers crossed it doesn't play out like that, but potential problems are there. Hopefully they are being dealt with. [Post edited 20 Nov 12:13]

Potential threat from the weather to Saturday's match on 07:29 - Nov 22 with 3834 views | Rodingdale | Forecast seems to be saying once the sun comes up today temperature will hover around 2-5°C, from now until kick off. Dryish today, so time to get the covers off and work on the pitch to clear the drains. Depends how much the frost has penetrated. Problem will be the forecasted deluge tomorrow morning, which follows initially heavy snow, which if it gets on the unprotected pitch will be a nightmare to clear. Absolute sickner for the club given the preparation that goes into preparing for a derby game. Good luck everyone.

The main problem, as you say, will be tomorrow's rain. On any day at this time of year, the amount of rain forecast to fall from 6 til 12 tomorrow morning, would cause issues. After this past few days, it will fall onto some likely semi frozen spots, and won't freely drain, creating pools on the surface. Footpaths locally are like an ice rink this morning. I can see a pitch inspection at around 10.30 in the morning. Imagine the reaction that will get from the away fans. I think the covers will come off early today, and it may even be apparent later that there could be problems. Following their post yesterday, the club has done everything it can to make sure the game goes ahead. It's in the hands of the weather gods now 🤞.

That's been the forecast for a couple of days now, and it seems there's a few of us less "confident" than the club that the game will go ahead

Should the game go ahead, the conditions are likely to be difficult with a sodden pitch and high winds, but big Jim will have prepared for this and will adapt our style accordingly. 👍

Don't...! I'm already having nightmares about the ball sticking as it's passed between the CBs before a gust of wind blows it into our net

Potential threat from the weather to Saturday's match on 14:56 - Nov 22 with 2821 views | Dale_4_Life | Its a big ask to get this on. More freezing temps until mid morning Saturday and a deluge of cold sleety rain. If the games on Dale will need to adapt and quickly as its not going to be the beautiful game any more it will be who rolls the sleeves up (or more likely down) and gets to grips with atrocious conditions quickest. Have we a side that will revel in these conditions? i guess we will find out tomorrow.

seems like a bit of deflection work this. You sound like the BUFFO not me.

I knew you were a Biffo from your very first post, but you confirmed it beyond any doubt with your post in this thread. Now you might be able to pull the wool over the likes of the simpleton who upvoted your other posts on this thread, but I wouldn’t trust him to sort out a decent energy deal for me, let alone spot an obvious WUM… Your post was not something any Dale fan would come out with. Unlike a certain group of supporters at the other end of the A627(M), we didn’t abandon our club in its hour of need because we didn’t like the people at the top. We still turned up and supported our team whilst ridding the boardroom of scum. That’s why you could never be able to claim to be a Dale fan. You don’t have the stomach for it.

I’m Dale and I don’t have to prove anything to you but on the Oldham stuff. As much as I dislike them they did not abandon their club they were out every week , on the pitch demanding change. You can only applaud them for that and as much as I’m happy a deal with the ogdens were sorted we could have done more to force a change. Also Oldham’s owners would not sell which was different to our circumstances as SG was open to investment / takeover. You’re the one starting to sounds like a BIFFO

Aye, righto. Quite an in depth knowledge of how the Biffos turned their back on their own club though. Bunch of shithouses. Remember to log out of your ‘fedupdalefan’ account though before you post again, there’s a good lad. [Post edited 22 Nov 20:32]

How much more could we have done? Did you attend all the Trust meetings over the last year and a half to suggest these routes forward? Are you aware of all the work that supporters did and continue to do to not only attract the Ogdens to the club but also to identify the issues that still exist since the deal was done?

they didn’t turn their back on their club at all. Don’t think you realise how much the fans helped push a takeover at that club. Can only applaude them for that. No matter if you hate them or not there is a servere ownership issue in football. Now they are properly won and I think we will get turned over by Oldham

Maybe a naive / harsh comment from me regarding the fans and how they dealt with it but at the end of the day we are in a good place at the minute. As said to kel the BIFFOS were diffrent to our approach because the frauds wouldn’t sell the club
