Southampton Monitoring Another Championship Manager on 10:23 - Sep 23 with 1732 views | saintwizzler | The Bournemouth and Leicester games are massive for Russell Martin’s future. With Arsenal and Man City away in November at least 4 points is required from The Cherries and Foxes games. After Man City we have Everton and Wolves. That will be 11 PL games played and we have an international break. Then it should be decided on the manager’s future. He deserves 11 games.

Our supporters wouldn’t like Moyes. They didn’t like Puel. Neither fist pump the crowd after a victory.

Puel was awful though. We won less home games in his season than Hull who were relegated.

SR will already know that of course. WBA will want to increase that ASAP if the Baggies keep playing like they are. Food for thought...

The points attained was more relevant than the league position. 46. 6 more than 17th got.

The league position is the most important thing. Finish 1st, win the league.

Southampton Monitoring Another Championship Manager on 11:21 - Sep 23 with 1545 views | MattFinish | Is anyone seriously thinking that would be a good move? He's failed to get Baggies promoted two seasons running and lost three times to Martin last season. Hopefully like Eustace it's just lazy journalism

That year was the lowest ever 8th points total so people trying to defend Puel with the 8th stat is a bit misleading. He managed 46 points.

Whatever you may think about RM and his tactics, there is little he can do if the players that are paid to score are not good enough to even when they get gilt edged chances.

Martin plays a brand of football that only works when you have 11 better players than the opposition. That was the situation we were in last season. This season we go into virtually every match with inferior players. You need a manager who is used to this and plays accordingly.

Southampton Monitoring Another Championship Manager on 12:11 - Sep 23 with 1391 views | TripleNiemi | Find it absolutely blöody nuts that the board are considering a replacement if I am honest (if they are). I make no bones, cannot stand our Manager or his insistence on playing the style he wants but I do totally respect his rigid / strict perseverance for what he sees as his philosophy. The bit that really irks is, why did these clowns give him a contract extension when it was absolutely not needed. Beggars belief. If he goes, c’est la vie but the Noddy’s won’t be happy as they seem to see something I don’t with this guy. [Post edited 23 Sep 12:27]

Southampton Monitoring Another Championship Manager on 13:26 - Sep 23 with 1228 views | Ifonly | So "sources" have told Football Insider that RM has 2 games to sort it out. Note that 1 of those is away against Arsenal so a bit tricky, so if they're right (big if) then it all comes down to the next game. I'm no fan of RM, but if this is really how the board go about managing the club then they are total dicks. They give him a new 3 year contract and then ditch him 6 games later and only 3 games after the end of the transfer window? W*nkers.
