Aldershot Screening 07/09/2024 on 16:53 - Sep 7 by NorthernDale | I was surprised by the changes, why change a winning team, the team played brilliantly last week. |
And 4 changes at that.......keeps Shots guessing as to how we will turn out just as much as us lot watching at home. Hope McNulty knows what he is doing. Come on Dale!

Not sure why you'd want to meddle with the back 3 given their form and with a new keeper coming in. Or for that matter why you'd bench Henry, would have thought Gilmour would come in for East if anyone, but again why change it.
Aldershot Screening 07/09/2024 on 17:21 - Sep 7 with 4317 views | NorthernDale | I didn't realise he had dropped Kelly, with seven subs, common sense says have a keeper on the bench, McNulty baffles me sometimes with his team selection, like at York, when he dropped Beckwith for Armstrong. I feel sorry for McBride, Ferguson and Henry who all played well last week. Hopefully it will work out well and we will sneak a win.

Aldershot Screening 07/09/2024 on 04:36 - Sep 4 by TalkingSutty | Let's hope it's a bit more enjoyable for those that attend than it was for us in pre match hospitality last Saturday, what a thoroughly miserable experience that was. Ten fellas all seated around a table in a half empty room with Tammy Wynette ( Stand by your man) playing as background music, we also had Bridge over troubled Waters and that Dooleys classic, The Chosen Few...and we had all paid for the privilege. It was surreal you would never have thought you were attending hospitality at a football ground and it would have been laughable if it wasn't so sad. Televisions all over the place and we just wanted the live football on, something you would expect in hospitality at a professional football club. Of course various matchday staff busied themselves trying to find somebody to turn the televisions on, even a couple of Directors. Eventually Tony Pockney arrived with his ever smiling face to tell us that there's a problem and it's expensive to have live football on the televisions...they have it on in the Ratcliffe and Dale Bar though. Feedback was given but you just get a smile and a shrug of the shoulders. It's a problem that was being sorted out at the fans forum remember but nothing gets done. Not just our party but also others from the private boxes, the guest speaker Richard Jobson and even the matchday officials who were sitting nearby mentioned if football was on the televisions. At that moment we could have done with the Ogden family visiting the room and they could have experienced what hospitality looks and feels like at their club. Somebody should be embarrassed but nobody seems to care. Maybe that's why there was hardly anybody dining and I believe there was no match ball sponsors on the day. Does anybody actually care because if they did the problem would have sorted by now. Spotland Reform, The Cemetery, Rochdale Cricket club are all within a stones throw of the ground if they can provide Sky/ BT live games then why can't a professional football club with a multi million pound turnover? To suggest they are using dodgy boxes isn't true neither. We are now seriously considering cancelling our remaining two match hospitality bookings, it was the topic of discussion.. It's Andy Duff i feel sorry for. Apologies for posting these negative posts but if things aren't brought out into the open nothing gets done and these are the sort of thing that turn customers and sponsors away from the club. You won't get any feedback or updates from anybody within the club, it's like pulling hens teeth trying to get anything done, as witnessed with the farcical reserved stickers scenario last week. Everything is hard work. The fans are embracing The New Era and a lot are increasing their spending but nothing seems to have changed at the club, the 'us and them' is still firmly in place and everything is on a need to know basis. The lack of change is something that concerns me, who inside the club is the driving force, the one that sees problems and does something about it? The old ways didn't work, the club imploded. Completely agree with everything you have said about the hospitality experience TS. It’s a complete joke that a professional football club doesn’t have live football on in hospitality. They don’t have it on either in the boxes where they expect people to pay thousands of pounds. They really need to work on the hospitality experience. They expect companies to pay a lot of money to sponsor matches, the people who come along may not be Dale fans and would expect to be able to watch live football whilst having their meal and to keep up to date with all the scores during the match. If the experience isn’t good enough they won’t come back again, you will only get one chance to entice companies to sponsor matches, it has to be a good enough experience to keep them coming back. Yes it might be expensive to have the live football on but it’s expensive to sponsor a match or have a box for the season. It has been very quiet in the hospitality area both before and after the match. If they don’t get live football on they will lose out on the hospitality side. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Playing really well. If you compare BJ's experience to RS's the product on the pitch has been chalk and cheese in the last 3 halves. As has player acquisition. I was similarly skeptical but BJ us winning me over

Arguably, second half was more impressive than the first. We controlled the game and the substitutions and tactics were spot on. Haven’t seen us do this for quite a while, possibly since the Keith days. Up to 3rd, best start in 9 years, 2 goals conceded, no “money bags runaway with it” teams in the division this year (unless that’s us!)… could it be? [Post edited 7 Sep 19:30]

Last year we panicked at times with a lead, even if 2 goals. Completely different this year and that was a superb second half effort against a team who have scored a lot of goals this year. Early days but that is 2 great performances on the bounce. 2 winnable home games to come so let's keep it going on Tuesday. Nice to also put that level of performance in when on national TV

Thought Robson was excellent in goal with the limited amount he had to do. Very calm. Would definitely look at extending his deal even when McNicholas is fit.
