I'm paraphrasing, but something along the lines of "the greatest injustice in play off history".
Earth to Don. If a team has a man advantage, and they can't score a goal in 30 minutes, that ain't injustice. It's just them being shit.
The Final had all Three Stooges working together: Gary Weaver commentating and both Goodman and Hinchcliffe on as co-commentators. All three appalling as usual. Weaver must’ve been gutted he couldn’t shout hysterically along the lines of ‘Leeds have planted their flag in the Wembley turf and WON’T be stopped from taking their rightful place back amongst the elite!’ He did mention what a miracle job both managers had done taking over such ‘damaged’ clubs and getting them to the play offs though…..
We were totally outplayed and the last minute goal was our first shot on goal.
Was ten years ago now, and we won. More important things to get worked up about really.
We had 11 total shots to Derby’s 16 despite having a man less for a third of the game.
We were obviously going to be backs to the wall at Wembley with 10 men and the defensive effort for the last 30 minutes was heroic and sublime. It’s not as if they had chance after chance, they just kept whacking balls into the box and Richard Dunne dealt with almost every single one of them with ease. He was 10/10 and the best player on the pitch by some distance.
If was objectively one of the best defensive performances I have ever seen, if not the best. There are many ways to win a football match, they never looked like scoring and we did once. There is nothing undeserving about that performance in any way.
I’ll defend how we played that day as many times as I have to. We did what we had to do and we did it to near perfection.
I sort of ignore the Sky bias towards certain teams these days, Goodman and Hinchcliffe tend to favour northern teams anyway as that was their background as players. What has been interesting for QPR on Sky last season is our record, don't think we actually lost any of the games we featured in and that Leeds result was a right old kick in the goolies for the Sky boys not expecting us to destroy the mighty Leeds
Actually, if you are going to look at unjust play-off finals, you need to look at what went on in the Forest-Huddersfueld match, and the ramifications of that game for the two teams
The 82 cup replay was more than unjust when compared against the play off final. The history books will say that Spuds won 1-0 but in reality Rangers dominated for large parts, hit the woodwork a couple of times, had a perfectly good goal disallowed and the game was officiated by a ref that trained with Spuds and was subsequently done for fraud and deception. I demand that the match should be replayed.
Lads, it was 100% the cruelest. We were absolute wnk that day, held on by our fingernails against a much younger, fitter and far less expensively assembled team. We had one shot on target which went in in the 90th minute. That Derby team were fantastic to watch and for a neutral it was a shame they never got a crack at the Prem ahead of our stinking lot.

Yes.......no mention of budgets or parachute payments.
