Watching him yesterday said it all. - And they got him on a free from Swansea.

Came from Brentford and in my opinion did not have the same success with us. No pace, often wrong side of his man and was not good enough at defending. Wasn’t upset when he moved on the fact that we are struggling now doesn’t make his ability any better.

Yeah, very average for us but I suppose average is a pipe dream at the moment. And as Clive says, he was up against Buster Merryfield yesterday!

He was crap, come on mate stop rewriting history !

Where's the re writing in that 1st paragraph , he's played all his football since he left above us and DID keep Manning out of the team at Swansea for over a year.

Nope he was a decent mid table left sided defender. His entire career is proof of that.

Yep!

Yet.....Swansea ended up giving Bidwell away and turning Manning into one of the top-performers in the Championship, scoring goals and leading with assists

Yes.....the same Manning derided by a few on here, was actually so good Swansea were prepared to let Bidwell go on a free

Really who would have guessed heh, and all the while the mugs down the Bush wasted £1m up front £ 2m+ in wages on old cart-horse Bidders, when they could have picked up a better full-back from non-league for a tenth of that cost.

I was'nt a fan of Bidwell in part due to his rumoured wages offered to entice him from Brentford (apparently we offered £15k p/w, double what Brentford would pay him) but more due to his lackadaisical stroll back past the paddock when getting back into position after crossing the halfway line.

A very very average player, who played for himself and not the team, hence always the 5 yard pass inside to his Centre Half when he was in a better position to move the ball himself.

Brentford fans sussed him out, most Managers who have free-transferred him have likewise, if you rate him, fair enough.

How do you know the financial side of his contract, etc, etc???? Who cares anyway, not our issue. It is how he plays.

I look at what I saw and what I saw was a fair enough 'run of the mill' left sided player and I think that the number of professional games confirm what I believe. Team player as well, blame him for being not close enough to the CB's, why not blame the CBs for being too close together??

To call him 'shite' is poor & wrong - he wasn't, he was limited like most, if not all, of our players.

As for Brentford fans.....well, look at swithingcode post on P1. He states 'solid'.

I expect better from you PRR!!!

Bidwell was an adequate championship left back for us. Probably indicative of where we are as a club that a 6/10 player is being argued over like he was an 8 or a 1.

I did always enjoy how Joel Lynch used to try and blame everything on Bidwell. I recall once him passing it back straight to an unmarked striker, and after the goal Lynch's first instinct was to blame Bidwell, before settling on the "stare at the sky" response

A 'solid' player in League 1 for Brentford maybe, not sure why Switchingcode said he copped abuse from Brentfords fans if he was so 'solid'

To call him 'shite' may or may not be poor or wrong, but that's irrelevant because I did'nt call him 'shite', read my post again.

I do care about the financial side as when you see how much money in fees + wages we have wasted on the likes of Bidwell (£3m), Washington (£4.5m), Austin last year, Johansen this year, you quickly realise why we are in such a mess and losing £20m odd pa.

Poor response PRR......

Switchingcode said he was a solid player....end off. He watched him enough playing for Brentford and that is his opinion - your post reflects the opposite. Dont care about abuse from Bees fans.

To call him 'Shite' is wrong & poor and you should recognise that. Not saying that you did call him 'shite'.

You may care about the financial side but that isn't the issue......you do not know what financial terms he moved from Brentford to QPR - it is pure speculation on your behalf.

Pure speculation would be he left Brentford because he wanted to move to closer to the Bush as The Conny was his favourite craft beer pub,

In all probability, it was a move motivated by money and the likelihood he would be playing understudy to a far superior player sourced from the lower league / non-league (Walsall) in Rico Henry

And was embarrassing himself in training sessions daily against Jota, remember him, could'nt get in Birmingham's team and absolutely tore Bidwell a new one at Griffin Park, was'nt so solid that day.

Another 'pxss poor' response PRR - I really do expect better.

I am not going to pull your/that post to pieces, you should have learnt from the previous one.

I am done with this Bidwell thread......no more from me, have fun!!

simple one this

would Bidwell get in our team and be first choice? would he improve us?

yes to both from me

Poll: Is time up for Ainsworth?

so would Padula have and would much rather have him - at the relevant time we could and should have had someone better than Bidwell

Padula wouldn't now but Bidwell would is the rather obvious response to that argument.

You’re correct in saying that Bidwell might just have the edge over an aged Padula😀 but I still need convincing that he is better than Paal - didn’t rate him in a rangers shirt and still don’t.
