Coventry Match Thread 00:02 - Nov 12 with 25217 views | Boston | We fckin win 2-1. Always had a bit of a gripe with these lads. Got a hiding up there once, must be nearly 40 years ago but there's nothing like a bit of hate to add interest to a game. Oh yeah, tomorrows unwilling audience who will have to listen to the boss's choice of audio entertainment will include Brentford, Millwall, Palace and a Porto fan. So sort it aaaht Rangers! Bring on this mouthwatering World Cup!

Agree. Stunning result for Brentford. The Arse have a good chance now to put some daylight between them and Citeh. As for us...meh 🙄

Coventry Match Thread on 17:27 - Nov 12 by CamberleyR | I'm far from a happy clapper fella. Prior to that we'd taken 15 from 18. We need to stop building the team up on runs like that getting carried away and getting all woe is me when we take 1 from 15. The team is probably somewhere in the middle at the moment. I've faith Mick can turn it round. Get our best team fully fit during the WC break and start again just before Christmas. |
1 from 15 followed by 15 from 18 is something to get excited about the reverse is cause for worry. It’s not about what’s gone before it’s the forward direction. Currently we are on a downwards slope.

Agreed. It’s all very similar to last season’s collapse. Can’t be a coincidence that it’s happening again. I’m clinging to the hope that a break will do the players some good. They looked mentally shot today and lacking in confidence. Hopefully it’ll do us some good to have a few weeks to recharge and try to rediscover our early season form.

Coventry Match Thread on 17:35 - Nov 12 by dmm | As pointed out earlier I think, we had 6 probable first 11 players out today and the lack of depth in the squad showed. That's not going to change significantly, if at all in January. If we can't keep key players fit we're unlikely to maintain our early season form. I was a bit disappointed with Beale today and felt he should have changed things earlier. However, there was little on the bench to work with which underlines my point. There's still a long way to go in this season. Regroup, go again and you never know. |
We also were probably only Stef away from the first choice eleven against Huddersfield.
| It's being so happy that keeps me going. |

Coventry Match Thread on 17:28 - Nov 12 by ted_hendrix | Maybe your right, to my way of thinking when we were flying high and playing half decent football so to speak there weren't any problems and everyone was happy. Now we are on a quite dreadful run and It's now IMO when you see just how good a Manager Is, whether he has the nouse/ability to turn It around and so far Beale hasn't been able to do that. I'm not going mad about today's result, I never thought for a minute we'd get a result up there and we didn't. Nobody at our club is or should be above criticism and that includes Beale. He's got some serious work to do, we'll see how he deals with It. Thank f uck there's a break now from these results. Like I say we'll see. |
Agree with this. There is quite a test for Beale now and the break is very welcome. The problem is not 1 point and 1 goal in 5 games; it is that we don't look like we deserve any more. I feel like we still wouldn't have scored today if we were playing now 2 hrs later. Copy and paste for most of the last 5 games. This is not a situation where getting a new striker will solve the problem, it goes much deeper through the team setup. If the game was still going now while we probably wouldn't have scored, we'd certainly have shipped another one or two from counters starting down the flanks or from set pieces. And yet... when Beale-ball works, it works well and is very tasty. A bit like Warbsball. Go back to the Sheff U, Watford, Boro games. Intensity, one touch almost telepathic passing... it was like watching 2 lower prem teams play and we were the better one with our very limited resources. In summary I'm far from calling for Beale's head. Like the guy and his style of play showed real class on some days and I think we need to stick the season. But his 1st job, far too many ups too soon and some clear repetitive weaknesses we can all see now shining through... hope this break gets used to fix them and get confidence back. Coventry Match Thread on 19:23 - Nov 12 with 1897 views | flynnbo | Well, it was a nice day ruined by a football match where their keeper made one save. Was with the home fans who reckoned that was the best they’d played in a couple of seasons. We are so painfully slow with no cutting edge and can’t see how we’re going to improve. The break comes at a good time for us-hopefully.

Board need to either back Beale or sell up. Ferdinand should be gone tonight - eight years 'directing' and that's our bench. Coventry don't have a ground and were in the fourth division recently. It's abject and will continue being so while things stay the way they are. [Post edited 12 Nov 2022 19:56]
