WTF happened to my life? on 08:39 - Nov 12 with 2498 views | Northernr | Yeh mate, if it helps at all I think we're all feeling the same. Used to play football a couple of times a week with pubs after, obviously QPR Saturdays, restaurants with my other half, regular international travel with my job. Now I'm in bed with a book by 8pm some nights. It's dire. DMs are open if anybody is struggling and wants to chat off board.
WTF happened to my life? on 09:29 - Nov 12 with 2415 views | nix | Yep me too. I'm not just messing people, I'm missing being able to go to stuff with other people, going to stuff on my own. Having somewhere to go. Walking in the park is lovely but doesn't always cut it.
WTF happened to my life? on 09:38 - Nov 12 with 2400 views | traininvain | Same here. I’m used to working hard so that I can enjoy rangers on a Saturday, holidays, nice restaurants etc. Now feel like I’m working a lot harder (people have nothing else to do I guess) but without any of the benefits.
WTF happened to my life? on 09:50 - Nov 12 with 2378 views | flitwickhoop | Hi all Don't post on here often but thought I would add to this. I feel your pain Red Ranger, it's exactly the same for me and most people. Everything I love doing has been taken away from me and at times it feels like there will never be an end to it. The gym, playing football, watching football, travelling, gigs, museums, socialising all gone and all we're left with is working and sleeping. I will say though (and this is the reason I'm posting I suppose) that this will pass, it may take a while but it will and for that I'm sure. For me personally (and I won't go into detail) 2019 was the worst year I have ever experienced but I survived it and those bad times came to end so please believe me when I say at some point in the future, life how we knew it will come back and when it does it will taste very sweet. Echoing North's post - DM is open for anyone struggling or who wants a chat off board
WTF happened to my life? on 13:58 - Nov 12 with 2207 views | Juzzie | Well, apart from not commuting to work anymore my life is pretty much the same. With two young kids so much is focused on them things I used to do such as football, pubs, motorbike rides etc etc just don't happen anymore. The only thing we can't do is also kids related (swimming, play areas etc). In a way, having a small family keeps me focused but I still feel the effects of all of this from time to time. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Are you still running Clive? I picked up a small injury a couple of months ago and getting out for a run wasn't am option for a bit. It definitely too a toll mentally esp combined with am increase in alcohol consumption. Lack of daylight a challenge now will have to invest in some new headlights for the winter

WTF happened to my life? on 20:17 - Nov 12 with 2026 views | Red_Ranger | thanks for all support and concerns. I'm fine, just a bit perplexed and confused when compare former life to now. as you say we all in the same boat. ive got great family and friends. probably had it too good for too long. increased drinking is a bit of a concern sometimes bearing in mind was habitual drinker Adrian Charles style before Covid. Plus is i've started running which i recommend to everyone. Did the NHS couch to 5k programme. Again recommend to all. thanks for support but just needed to get that first post off my chest. hopefully Dyke to score tonight!!
WTF happened to my life? on 20:38 - Nov 12 with 1998 views | The_Beast1976 | I see a few people have mentioned travel. You can still travel to some places. I've just booked 2 months in Africa from mid Dec to mid Feb, the first half of which will be spent volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary in Zimbabwe. Wasn't going to let Covid take away my usual winter holiday having already taken away a lot of my summer at home. Flights are very cheap at the moment, so if you like travelling and can get away then there are still plenty of options out there. [Post edited 12 Nov 2020 20:59]

WTF happened to my life? on 23:13 - Nov 12 with 1903 views | GloryHunter | Yeah it's $hit. But all things must pass. My parents lived through WWII (your grandparents, for most of you). It must have seemed like the end of the world for them, but they got through it, after five years of fear and pain. So chin up, we'll get through this together. We will be back at Loftus Road, and Wembley, and in the pub. And one day all this $hit will be just a memory.
WTF happened to my life? on 23:30 - Nov 12 with 1894 views | daveB | I'm lucky I am still working full time and have plenty to keep me occupied plus 2 kids who make the days go a bit quicker so I really can't complain and feel sorry for myself but little things bring it home to me somedays and I end up feeling really down. Just this week i was doing the yearly photo book for my misses as a Christmas present from the kids, every year fill 3 books of pictures from days out, holidays, family parties etc and this year almost every picture is in our house or garden which brought home all the things we've missed out on this year. Christmas as well is getting me down, usually have days out with the kids at winter wonderland, seeing father Christmas and shopping to find ideas for family, friends and the kids, doing everything online feels so soulless. I know this compared with people who have been seriously ill or have lost their jobs and can't put food on the table is a little self indulgent and pathetic but there you go. At least QPR can't lose this week

Mate I was going great guns at one point, 5 miles a day and a big run on Sundays up to 16 miles. Achilles blew up on me shortly after lockdown when I started adding football to that. Agony, I’ll never mock Grant Hall again. And yeh like you I missed it, and combined with casual drinking not good. Now slowly easing back in. After 3 months of nothing. If I can do 5 miles tomorrow as planned it’ll be my best week since August. I’m on Strava if you are.
WTF happened to my life? on 18:48 - Nov 15 with 1589 views | Paddyhoops | Life is a bit shit at the moment. Days like yesterday don't help . Wall to wall rain from dawn till dusk which means you can't even walk the dog or get some much needed fresh air. Depressing beyond belief. Still , Bill Bailey cheered me up on strictly come dancing . Bills exactly the same as I am to the day and month(55). He danced like a 20 year old. He made my night and as far as I know he hasn't run off with partner like the last QPR comedian did! This shit will pass and we can all get back to HQ, go about our normal business and most importantly see family again.

Similar situation for me - still working full time and work has been even busier than normal. We normally do calendars for parents/aunts etc full of photos of the kids on days out, holidays, etc but haven't got enough decent pictures this year to do them. Struggling a little in the current lockdown as I have been working from home since March while my wife and the kids are all at work/school, so pretty lonely during the day. Kids sport being cancelled was a big blow as taking them to training and matches was a great help as it felt like a bit of normality. It also gave me the opportunity to have, socially distanced, conversations with other parents. Hopefully things will get better next year if the vaccines do work effectively.

WTF happened to my life? on 20:11 - Nov 15 with 1473 views | dutch | Missing the company of strangers, crowds on tubes, mobs in pubs, mates at Rangers. Missing live jazz and dim sum on Sundays in Chinatown, missing my city buzzing and laughing, even missing tourists. But we will be back, London plays the long game and QPR fans are staunch. Cannot wait to run down the Uxbridge Road before a game to join all of you. See you there.
