OK, so this is a pretty trivial subject at this time of crisis and upheaval, but I am getting to the point where my crowning glory - or to be more accurate, grizzled French crop - is going to need some serious attention. I've never cut my own hair and am nervous as hell.
What are you lot planning to do? I am considering getting some electric clippers but am such a clumsy oaf that I will probably end up slicing the curtains in half, along with my own ear.

I'm on my third set of clippers now and have been doing this for about 20 years now.
But a decent set, with lots of different grades and some will even allow you to adjust the length up and down between the grades too. You can also get graduated grades which will help blend in different lengths.
Just remember, start long and go shorter if necessary.

I’ve been cutting my own hair for roughly the same amount of time too.I normally trim the beard and stubble by taking the plastic cover off of the blade.
I made the mistake of trying to cut my hair after shaving with it once,rather than the other way round.Once you’ve got a bald strip across the middle of your head you might as well continue with it. |  | | |

Grade two all over appears to be the agreed way forward. I'm starting to look like a cross between Donnie from 'Billions' and Jack Torrence from 'The Shining' to be fair...............think my sanity is going the way of the latter after nearly three weeks working from home too. |  | | |

Not had any head hair to worry about for the last 20yrs but now noticing on daily zoom video calls why my Mrs keeps complaining every two weeks that my beard has got to the 'dirty' looking stage and to go and cut it. Normally I could go weeks without ever looking in a mirror! |  |

I got clippers last week. Have had 2 haircuts with them since then.
One on Sunday when 'er indoors (permanently indoors now) did the sides etc, but we couldn't figure out how to blend the top with the sides length-wise so I had a sort of shelf for a couple of days.
Yesterday morning I decided to address the situation. Still couldn't sort out the shelf bit - said shelf bit just kept getting shorter but was still a shelf. After a fair bit of yelling and accusatoring we chopped it down to a very short haircut all over except for slightly odd whispy bits at the front. Will do for now I suppose.
The queue outside the barbers when this lockdown ends is going to be a right parade of freaks and misfits. :) |  | | |

A few of my mates back home have started a "challenge" for this (in the mold of the ice bucket challenge), nominate a mate to cut their own hair and donate to the Covid relief fund. Nothing massive but they've raised nearly a grand so not bad!

Going to see if I can grow it long again, back to the late 1970s, re-live QPR in the 1975/76 season (what a joy that was) and enjoy the great rock music of the era. Alternatively go back to early/mid 80s and grow a mullet, great era as well for QPR under Venables. |  | | |

I know what you mean, it got to the point where I basically just bought any old pair which was in stock. When I ordered mine, Argos still had stock, although they were only offering click and collect, not home delivery.
Mind you, mine are yet to arrive. They are due to be available next week, but let's see. | |
