Sorry for new thread,
But how bad do you lot reckon it’s going to get here in the UK?
I just been watching the news. Looking nasty in Italy.

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

Yes, that’s an interesting thread. And he points out it’s a gamble that nobody knows will work or not, and the humane element relies on aggressively protecting the vulnerable which doesn’t appear to be happening yet. So I can understand why people are worried.

There’s also a letter from health professionals in the Times asking the government to be transparent in their decision making or risk losing the public’s trust. I think we’re at that point already, which is why so many groups are making decisions contrary to govt advice (e.g. postponement of football).

That is my thoughts as well Leon, the Government want football and rugby events to go ahead, spread the virus, let's have it and get on with the herd plan attitude but other bodies are acting on their own and banning events, I think Lisa said she would not go to a game which is going against the plan that she is backing, oh you have to laugh.

Can I pose a question to those who are advocating a lock down policy as opposed to what the UK government is implementing? And before anyone responds, I DON' T know the answer and I am NOT trying to score points

So you are in Italy and you have locked down 60 million people. They have been in that state for more than 2 weeks and are beginning to get antsy. The new infection rate seems to be dropping. On May 1st you decide to ease the lockdown and people start moving around again.

Meanwhile the virus has not gone to Mars. It's still around kicking it's heels waiting to strike again.

All of a sudden 60 million people are back on the scene with a very low level of immunity across the population.

What will happen? What actions do you take? What if you had managed to get even 30% immunity across the population?

Civil unrest is my concern. Trying to contain and dictate to people not to socialise or move about will take some doing.
I mean some can't even wash their hands after using the toilet or put rubbish in a bin!!!

Maybe as Bryn says in another thread "natural selection"....

No. As usual you don’t understand (or pretend you don’t).

He says they think whatever they do people will get infected, so they are trying to control the rate.

And no sh*t Sherlock.

Everyone knows that.

So point 4 says "The UKs want infection BUT of particular categories of people."
And point 5 says ""at the moment the Government wants people to get infected, up until hospitals reach capacity"

I haven’t said I’m backing the plan.

I’ve said you are misrepresenting what the plan is.

I’ve said no one knows what the best thing to do is.

Why have you started trolling again today? Do you find this funny?

Which is exactly what I’ve said over the last few days.

And the thread states clearly that the thinking is based on the premise that you can’t stop infections happening. Which is also what I’ve just said.

Stop misrepresenting everything deliberately troll boy.

You have to be of a certain character to attempt to troll threads where people are scared. Have a think about that perhaps? You make me despair of humanity to be honest.

It’s not ‘just in’. It was a few weeks ago, and subsequently found to be someone who hadn’t been reinfected but who wasn’t recovered when released.

Look at the date on the article.

The UKs plan is ballsy it's the only phrase I can think of but I can't help thinking that it's like a Nazi plan, survival of the fittest, if the weak die the weak die, etc, who knows what will or won't work but even if it turns out to be a better way of tackling the problem it's distasteful to me, the end justifying the means and all that, sacrificing ones granny and not doing much to save her does not seem right to me, other countries even if they are wrong are trying to save everybody we seem to be willing to sacrifice our old and weak and that does not sit comfortably with me.

Dreadful that anyone will die of a disease that didn’t exist a matter of months ago.

The trouble is that each death seems like a huge issue (obviously they are for everyone affected) and yet none of us are aware any other year of people dying with flu (unless we are directly affected). So the levels of stress and panic are being stoked up to the point that people will become ill with worrying. Not helped by trolls of course who are loving it.

The thread has many posts and replies from the professor. Not just 15.

You don’t get under my skin. You are trying to troll people and wind them up and scare them when you know that people are concerned. You’re a complete waste of time. I simply can’t understand the mindset of people like you.

I don't agree and I think you are being sensationalist.

The strategy is to build up immunity to protect the more vulnerable. The elderly and those with complex conditions probably are less socially mobile than the 18-50 group and children. The younger groups are also the sections of the public that are probably likely to display a modest response to the disease. Allowing them to build up immunity would seem to be a sensible idea.

Surely its better to try and get a proportion of the population to develop immunity? There is no vaccination alternative.

You seem to be obsessed with the notion that the UK is going to sacrifice part of the population for the greater good when I don't believe that is the case.

I have never come across anyone with the expertise of weasel words as Lisa.
She point blank will not admit Boris and his experts were wrong even though the WHO says they are.
She re-iterates their poorly though out excuses for why they are doing what they wanted to do, (which was not much).
Let's just take a couple
Schools staying open - excuse "if you close the schools the kids will have to be looked after by the vurnerable. The reality assume that 15% currently have the virus, in another 2 weeks that will nearer 30%-40%, so more infected kids will need looking after. As well as that for those 2 weeks those kids will show very few symptoms and will NOT self isolate, infecting every adult that come is close contact with them.
Not Stopping major events like Football matches and Festivals etc - excuse open air is safer than enclosed spaces. The reality, how do most fans get to big matches, not by car, by Coach & Train ie enclosed spaces.
What about when at a match, the fans go through turnstyles a lovely way to "surface transfer" the virus as are doors, taps in toilets, handrails on stairs and eating places.

She gobbles up the crap and repeats it without any critical thinking whatsoever and then blames disenters who point out the errors as scaremongering.

She wrote that posters said that the Gov want people to die, that is not what was said, we said they want people to get the virus. But they couldn't give a flying F about how many die, callous beyond belief.

Her sudden about turn over experts is beyond a comedy, when it comes to Climate Change or Berixit or Wind Turbines the expert consensus rules, now she says they don't for COV19.

I can’t stand Johnson. I think he’s wrong on basically everything. But he’s listening to his experts.
