Pretty but meaningless really, I wonder how much extra the cost of living is in London compared to Wales?
On our household income we are comfortable but if we moved to London we'd be flat broke, it's all relative.
Can you find a map purely of Wales with the same regional breakdown? I wonder where the blue areas will be on that? Will you then question if the Senedd works for Wales?

It also changes depending on who puts the picture together,

While I'm at it Kilk, how do you think an Indy Wales will do in rejoining the EU considering we'd have to answer the same questions Sturgeon has trouble with, the CFP isn't such a big issue really but we'd have to have a hard border with England and join the Euro.

Now tell me, how does Wales manage a hard border with England? There would be chaos. How much of our trade is with England?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Scotland was in the EU (and never voted to leave) their currency is the pound and the Queen is their Queen.
A lot of fake news perpetrated by the unionists and the unionist media.
What Scotland do if they leave the UK is their choice.

Take a look around south Wales, then take a look arond the south east of England.

If you were half correct, then the houses and living standards would look the same - yes ?
Lower wages = lower house prices, so same as higher wages = higher house prices.

Open. Your. Eyes. Mun.

Wales is getting well shafted. No two ways about it.

Wales has been kept poor, politics is choices.

Of course Wales and Scotland are already aligned to EU standards, quicker we get back in the less of a potential problem it is.

Scotland will be first, so all border issues will be sorted.
Wales/England border likely to be same or similar.

Great news though is that Gove and Johnson already worked it all out for the north of Ireland. Should be a cut and paste technology solution (s).

Easiest deal ever mun ....

Twitter says the following .....

‘What is worrying is that the UK owes a £2.2 trillion debt. But nobody seems to think that this is important enough to query the viability of the UK. And it is constantly rising.’

Put simply - Wales cannot afford to stay part of the tired old union.

Hope you enjoy that fact 👍

If Scotland goes indy and joins the EU don't they have to adopt the Euro and follow EU rules? They also don't get to choose over Sterling if they don't join the EU. They can ask to keep using Sterling and then they must accept monetary policy being set by the BoE.

There's fake news on all sides.

What now? I've been to the South East many times and it looks very similar in terms of housing, living standards vary from region to region but also across areas of Swansea there is a disparity in standards.

The lower wages = lower house prices thing just proves my point, they earn more in the South East so a house almost identiucal to a house in Swansea will cost more, that is also true inside Wales, almost identical houses in Swansea will have different prices depending on the area. My house in Skewen costs around 110,000, a smaller house in the Mumbles, 250,000. The same house in Cardiff will cost more and in London costs much, much more.

You do realise there is poverty all across the UK, Wales is generally worse off but London isn't paved in gold for everyone.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

You do know that if we went indy we'd have to take on our percentage of that debt? We'd be over 100 billion in debt from the outset.

PS, on the previous post, we are not 100% aligned with EU rules, some of our standards are higher than the EU, workers rights for one. Once Brexit negotiations are done we possibly won't be aligned on so very much, how soon do you see Wales going Indy? More or less than 10 years?

Scotland would not have to adopt the Euro until certain conditions are met, lots of countries in the EU do not currently have the Euro as their currency.
There is nothing to stop them keeping the pound if they choose, in certain situations it might suit them, interest rates are currently set for N.Ireland and Wales as well as England and the last thing I read on the subject said Scotland was performing to the UK average so no issue, that could change if their economy takes off if they do leave.

The powers that be and the media did a disingenuous number on Scotland to keep them in the union, the English led UK powers that be and their authorities are desperate for Scotland to stay in the UK.

It is a ludicrous desire of the Indy Scotland and Indy Wales campaigns that wishes to wrench powers away from Westminster then hand it immediately over to Brussels. That famous Australian man William Wallace would be spinning in his grave if he had one.

How do you maintain an NHS + other social security policies we've become accustomed to in an independent Wales?

Tax revenue, which then gets distributed to various sectors.

Tax revenue from what exactly?

We’re hardly an industrial juggernaut and our 2 biggest employers are notorious for their tax avoidance.

The tax take is relative to the population, there are many smaller countries than Wales.

Trampster, if Glyndwr had achieved his aims in unifying Wales and sending King Henry back to Westminster in a box, do you think he’d be happy with the king of belgium popping over to take over?

Swansea was a hotbed of spies during the war Highjack, were their sympathies Welsh or with the union state or with the power fighting the union state.
Ireland was neutral in that war, do they side with the crowd they had just got Independence from and who they had had trouble with for centuries or with some other crowd fighting the crowd that had given them so many problems over the years ?

I don't think Belgium would have much sway over Wales but even so would Wales be better off than often having England having a say over Wales ?

Free healthcare is one thing, depending on the standards maintained, I wouldn't mind being taken ill in Norway for example but Yemen?

When other countries have gone indy, what has their starting point been? Has it been with over 100 billion of debt?

Scotland, she can use Sterling, I'll give in there but, it will still be subject to UK monetary policy, it would have no say other that

Most countries don’t offer free healthcare, that’s blatantly false.

My point was not about the standard of healthcare, my point was we live in a country with a significant amount of dependents that rely on the British social security system you and other welsh nationalists take for granted.

Not sure how accurate the map is but it's a guide and generally speaking in Europe's case no surprise.
