Give it to Cooper, he continually looks as though he's had a shot of fvcking heroin!!

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

That probably the best we can put out.
The problem is he's not been using Rutledge so he is not match fit.
Roberts was poor tonight.
Trying to hard to get forward then to knackered to defend.
He there to defend first.
God help him Sunday with that Cardiff winger running at him

Yes that looks a better shape side.
Problem then is throwing players in because are not match fit.
And Cooper is to blame for that

Shows the mess we are in at the moment that we haven't got a settled formation or anywhere near a settled starting 11

Man for man that's the starting eleven I'd choose as well

I understand this starting formation would possibly never be used by a manager again, but:

Woodman

Naughton . van der Hoorn . Rodon

Fulton . Wilmot (DM) . Grimes

Ayew . Celina . Routledge

Borja

Something has to be done to gain control in the midfield. I would try and make a team with these particular players. With Wilmot as a DM, it would hopefully allow Grimes to go forward more often and be creative. I originally had Peterson in, but I changed it for Routledge due to him having derby experience.

Unfortunately that would see us get destroyed down both flanks.

We simply don’t have the option we need in central midfield, he has to work around that and bring a bit of hunger and desire to the side, his laid back, nonchalant attitude seems to have crept onto the pitch

Woodman

Roberts Rodon (if fit) VdH Naughton

Fulton Grimes

Ayew Celina Routledge

Baston

Byers to come on if and when the game opens up second half. 50/50 between Routledge and Peterson, Routledge gets the edge because he’s got derby experience.

It's a tough formation cause as you rightly point out, 3 at the back is dangerous. But it's a question of whether we want to sacrifice some of our defense in order to gain midfield control.

The 4-2-3-1 could be used I suppose, if Rodon can't get up for Sunday, with Wilmot replacing him. It would mean he could operate at times as a CB, and at other times a DM. The 4-1-4-1 could also be used against Cardiff, since their hoofball tactics mean the ball will be flying over the top of the midfield anyway. Grimes to stay in there, with Ayew moving central alongside Celina, and 2 wingers around them (Dyer and Routs gives us necessary experience). Or 4-1-3-2, with Ayew moving up forward alongside Borja.

There are tonnes of options Cooper can try. At this stage, it's worth a change in formation cause we've played in a 4-2-3-1 in all league and cup games.

Would go for a bit more experience and some who you know will leave it all out there.

Midfield is still the big problem, no matter which combination we still look so weak in there.

I think this is pretty much my team too. I agree with the inclusion of Routs, I think he’s a clever player and knows what the game means. However, does he have the pace required to play on the wing any more? I would say the same thing in that it’s 50/50 with him and Peterson. Peterson would be excellent against tired legs for the last 20 mins or so as an impact sub though.

Genetically, paedophiles have more genes in common with crabs than they do with you and me. Now that is scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it, but it is scientific fact.

I'd seriously think about Ayew in Centre Midfield, I reckon he can do a job there and provide some much needed bite.

Not a bad idea. Frees up a spot for another genuine winger to come in too.

We must have two of the slowest full backs in the league.

Hoilett? He's a 60 minute a game player at the moment. Murphy may beat Roberts but has no end product.

On the right, if it's Mendez-Laing he'd cause problems. Whyte works hard, tracks back but not yet seen good delivery from him.

It all depends who Warnock goes with up front. I suspect Ward has earnt the starting gig from Glatzel with Tomlin behind.
