Sandy Lane stand desperately needs updating. The terraces need raising so fans can get better view of game the toilets are an embarrassment.I know money is short does anybody know if the club can get sports grants to finance the improvements ? How much would it cost ?

Kind of agree but I'm guessing it's way down the priority list. We rarely if ever sell out the ground. And surely our own training ground for example is a better place to spend money.

Poll: What are we more excited for?

I think it's a view from Gulliver's letterbox, as bad as Darlington's Feethams bench-seated cowshed, but it's dirt cheap for a season ticket, socialising you can stand and mix and the acoustics help create a good atmosphere, bouncing off the back of the stand when games get exciting.

Some elevation of the stand would be great giving a view more depth if we ever got the money to do a makeover.

I do miss some aspects since migrating to the main stand, to a small seat with my knees almost touching someone's shoulders below

Great view, mid-way block E. But would go back if the Sandy was improved. (especially as the arthritic oldies near the steps take an age to get up at the final whistle, 5.05pm shuffled out of the ground last week.

The Sandy has it's charm, but it's an awful example of a Football terrace. Too shallow, too many pillars. etc. I'd like to think the club might do something to it soon. I prefer terraces to sitting down, but I like being able to see the game most of all.

I used to be a Sandy Laner, right back to the days when you could walk from one end to the other at half time. For some games the atmosphere in there, especially at night, was second to none. Sadly I now think even if the terracing were improved that atmosphere would never be created again because of how Dale fans are well accommodated in the main stand and the WMG stand.
