Chipmunk crisps 17:47 - Jul 20 with 7622 views | Pacemaker | Does anyone else remember Oxo flavour Chipmunk crisps? I don’t know if they were available around the UK or just in the Rhondda. A wonderful taste sensation in an otherwise bland world of a child.

Yes black tongue and teeth were a common site outside the school gates. I think they still do a version of both but like the wagon wheel a pale imitation of the real thing.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Fun fact. I was run over by an alpine pop lorry when I was 17. 31 years later my knee still tells the tale.

Chipmunk crisps on 19:57 - Jul 20 by Pacemaker | Corona the king of pop, I can remember the Alpine pop lorry coming around because it was so cheap, I am sure it was six bottles for a pound or something like that. Horrible Matt green coloured lorries not like the bright yellow Corona lorries. Alpine also tasted a little cheap and nasty compared to Corona. |
Corona pop bottles. Can’t remember the lorries. Must be much younger than you. The thought has cheered me up no end ! 😉

One of the fascinations of staying with family up in Swansea as a kid was the pop man! That and the football. West Wales coast was boring with much too much clean air. Swansea had a funny smell which was quite comforting. The pavements were also interesting - speckled asphalt. Trifle on Sundays .. I could go on.

Chipmunk crisps on 16:20 - Jul 21 with 1772 views | londonlisa2001 | Alpine pop for us. Eventually replaced by a Sodastream. It’s funny given how ubiquitous it is now, that Coca-Cola, real Coke that is, was a massive treat. Normally a small bottle when on holiday, or really special occasions.

Chipmunk crisps on 16:51 - Jul 21 with 1748 views | Muteswan | I had a summer holiday job when I was at school back in the 60’s with Tizer, Our Boys at Fforestfach Industrial Estate. On the Kingsway close to the junction with Ystrad Road. The pop bottles were glass and the crates were wooden, and when the bottles were full a crate weighed a ton to a fifteen year old. Great job though, I was a”van/lorry boy”. I went around the various sites and shops delivering and collecting the empties with the driver telling stories about the people at the caravan sites, Trecco Bay was one on our round. Some very interesting stories and sights too. 😉
