Just finished making my 2 Grandkids Xmas Eve Boxes, daughter said she wanted them for the little monsters so I duly make her 2, simple enough to make....Did anyone hear of these things before the past 2 Xmas ? It was def not a thing when I was a kid or when my kids were teeny critters....A prezzy on Xmas Eve, get your arse to bed and wait till morning....
If they want a starter take 'em to a restaurant. Xmas eve never was and never should be a thing. It sounds like summat from the US, home of commercialism and the buying of stuff you don't really want or need.
Never heard of christmas eve boxes before. Then i read it upon here earlier and i just thought its something designed to squeeze more money out of joe public..
Then an hr later im in aldi looking for a dogs bed and low and behold they sell christmas eve boxes.....

When did Xmas Eve boxes become a thing? on 13:56 - Dec 20 with 4138 views
Christmas Eve boxes are typically given to young children as a way to break up the anticipation of the next day with some small gifts and activities. ... They can be as simple as a cardboard box or as elaborate as an engraved wooden chest, filled with sweets, pyjamas, films, books and games.
Having trawled Etsy looking for some I was amazed at the bloody price of these things, it did indeed start as a way of getting the rug rats to go bed and break the anticipation, someone is def coining it with these things, thank fook I can do them myself.....Loading up the car as we speak with supplies to make a shed load for next Xmas.....
